A
Night in Fantasia 2005
Australia's official anime and games music
festival! - 30th October 2005
Founded in 2003, Eminence came to birth as an orchestra
that endeavours to resurrect the popularity of classical music,
whose general appeal is currently stagnant. In the words of
one newspaper, the internationally celebrated Eminence
is a revolution.
Composed of Australia's finest young professionals, Eminence
musicians came from many other prestigious establishments
including Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra,
Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, Queensland Symphony
Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Jeunesses Musicales
World Orchestra, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and so forth.
Many elite players have performed as International Soloist
with major worldwide orchestras, won diverse international
competitions as well as having performed for dignitaries including
former US President Bill Clinton, Japanese Prime Minister
Junichi Koizumi and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.
The vivacious orchestra, still in its youth, has held groundbreaking
performances. A Night in Fantasia 04 was the debut
concert for Eminence, featuring the Oscar-winning
animated Studio Ghibi films and Final Fantasy series, one
of the highest selling games in the world. ANIF 04 was followed
by the phenomenal success of the sell-out concert Piano
Stories. The recent establishment of Dream Time Ensemble,
an elite selection from Eminence, marked the debut
of Eminence going national by bringing the highly
anticipated concert Destiny to eager Melbourne fans.
As guest of honour at A Night in Fantasia 2004,
Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu commented:
"I was deeply moved by the energetic
performance by the Eminence Symphony Orchestra... they are
of great significance in the future of classical music."
The Eminence Symphony Orchestra will perform the
best of anime and gaming music in full symphonic grandeur
at the prestigious Sydney Town Hall on Sunday 30th October
2005.
