Eminence on Wikipedia

My sister came up with the idea that someone should write up something on Eminence to post up on Wikipedia. Haha, someone from their year wrote up something for SGGHS!

Anyone up for the job? =P

We should add links and pictures to it as well... yay for eminence! More publicity!! And we all know what more publicity means.... more fans!!!

Btw... if you look up 'eminence' on wikipedia... the search comes up with some random places in kentucky and missouri! O_o Wow.

We need to do some interviews with the musicians. More pictures are good, really good and we really do need the publicity. We need several people to do this, so we can have several bases covered at once. It doesn't matter if information overlaps, we need to be as detailed as we can Very Happy

Ideally both volunteers and staff should do this, those in Sydney I mean, obviously us Melburnians can't do much, except to cheer you people on Very Happy

make sure you be careful when writing the article, i mean there is a link in wikipedia (sorry i couldn't find it) that says you are not supposed to promote yourself, so.... like ash mantle said, it has to be done neutrally and probably by a volunteer. but hey if private schools in sydney have a wikipedia entry why not eminence? Smile

I just visited the site now and its got things like 'being consdiered for deletion" slapped all over it. Is it gunna be fixed or wiped?

well, we need more ppls with Wiki accounts to make some changes so that it doesn't get wiped.

A main "suspicious" factor about it was that alex was the only one who edited it. and yeah... so we need more of that. can some1 remove the tracklistings of the cds Eminence has produced? Some ppls think that's an ad, so yeah... just stick a few songs together to "give an idea of the type of music Eminence plays" and just under a "some music" title... not under CDs being sold.

but yeah... can some ppls please make some changes to Wiki and make it more "Neutral"?

our defendants in the keep/delete debate did an excellent job; i was starting to feel ashamed of myself for not realising what an important part of our community eminence is xD
when it says "To meet Wikipedia's quality standards, this article or section may require cleanup", will that tag disappear with more edits, or does the original tagger have to come back and withdraw it? how do we go about getting rid of it?

We leave it until it's removed by an editor. A wikipedia editor, not us. Any suggestions that go up there will probably be implemented.
