firstly, thx eminence for including Yasunori Mitsuda in the upcoming Passion concert =D i sent an email with suggestions regarding Mitsuda a little while after ANIF 06 and i'm glad he's going to be in Passion
now as for suggestions, I was wondering if eminence would like to extend into the works of Yoko Shimomura. She composed the Kingdom Hearts II OST and there's some good works in there that I think would make a great addition to the eminence concerts.
Some good works by Shimomura:
Missing you (Piano)
Desire for all that is lost (good battle music)
Scherzo Di Notte (one of my favourites from the KH2 works)
The 13th Dilemma (also battle music, bit repetitive for about 1min but its quite nice)
and with suggestions to Mitusda's work:
Star stealing girl (love it)
Time of the dreamwatch (sounds cool)
Time's Scar/Scar's of time (already featured in the eminence trailer)
Reminiscence (however u spell it -_-, good piano)
The Brink of death (boss battle music, pretty good)
Dragon God (sounds a bit weird at first maybe, but not bad)
Leaving the body (not sure if this is the right name, there's a few translations of names in the CC OST)
Frozen Flame (i quite like this one) |

| i think u're a bit too late for the suggestion for passion concert. Eminence has most probably decided on what pieces to be played during the concert. |

Nice =D
Maybe next concert Ayako or Hiroaki should do something on an electric violin!!! Even if it's just one song That would be interesting. And I think, it'd be more suitable for some of the pieces played at the PASSION concerts =) |

Has anyone heard of Blood+ anime OST? Composed by Mark Mancina, produced by Hans Zimmer. All the tracks are simply beautiful, and I just can't wait to have a symphonic orchestra playing all of them live on stage. |

Have we had anything by Taku Iwasaki (R.O.D, but I only know the OVA)?
Failing that, I plug more Noir and Azumanga Daiou, and some of the others from Chrono Cross as suggested by Bananas
Cheers x |

| You should try Lineage2 music. It's really good, although some tracks are too short (since it's a game OST, and it's looping while playing). You can hear them at http://www.lineage2.com/pds/pds_music.html. Unfortunately it's not the best quality and stream only, but I'm sure you'll like it. |

Oh how about the theme from Worms Armageddon (or an arrangement of it anyway)?
Okay so it's not Japanese... but it could be fun.. |

Building on what Burak posted, some Online MMORPG OSTs can be very good, I recommend the sound tracks from a game named Granado Espada, it has some of the best songs from people like Osamu Kubota (also did songs for Beatmania and for the movie "Letters from an Unknown Woman") and SoundTeMP (the group that made songs for games like Ragnarok Online, Arturus, Seal Online and Flyff)
Samples of the music can be downloaded here (bloody huge, 118 MB ish): http://www.megaupload.com/?d=N5877W50
Edit: Wanted to add... the download above is actually 18 full songs from the Granado Espada OST so its a sample of the COMPLETE OST. |

Hmm... I admit... Something from Halo could Pique the Interest a Bit more but might be harder to do since it's probably more reliant on a Synch..
but YES.... Yuki Kajiura Should be done more often with stuff like .hack//Sign. And Any Chanting or singing can be reconstructed using a violin or something along the lines...
Yoko Kanno is a fave choice Cuz Something From Ghost in the Shell could be nice But again my Synch Work...
but after passion..... more Digimon(Savers) please >_>; I only just heard they piece they played at passion. And My GOD it was so beutiful comparing the Live one.
Another that could really give a good ol kick in the Pants... Zoids Genesis Which has had so many beutiful violin Pieces.
And something I plead for.. MORE EVANGELION!! Although Marcello Maio did an Absolutely -EXCELLENT- job learning most of the pieces approximately 19 hours before the first concert(Sydney) I wish he could of Done cruel angel's Thesis. (If any of you Melbourners Try to rub that in, our Sydney passion had Mitsuda Playing!) Seriously I still would like to See Marcello Do another Job. It'd be Fantastic.
Probably Shooting myself in the arm but how about GUNM/Battle Angel Alita
That's all from me xP |

Just so you're aware, so did Melbourne.
And just so we're all aware, just because there aren't a great deal of staff replies in this area doesn't mean we don't read your comments.
Finding a good blend of our desire for a quality concert (for artistic purposes) and of pieces the audience wants to hear is something we do time and time again. Naturally we won't just 'play anything' but we do listen.
And so we're clear, Yuki Kajiura is cool, Yoko Kanno is an excellent composer and Worms is a funny idea indeed, though I can't speak officially as to whether we'd ever do that, I do think ideas like that are amusing. |

Sshhh, you're ruining my approach!
Copyrights can be hard to get a hold of, and also some music just shouldn't be orchestrated at all. Still, keep the suggestions coming. Note of course any serious suggestions designed for ANIF07: SGE are most probably too late at this point. |

| Another suggestion for another of Yoko Kanno's works that i reckon would be awesome is her music from Cowboy Bebop. I absolutely love that music, and its among my favourite things to listen to all the time. "Tank" has gotta be the coolest opening song ever! |

Yup, Cowboy Bebop OST is surely amazing. On the other hand there is no symphonic tracks. There's jazz, blues, bebop, some guitar pieces but no orchestral.
Unless Eminence Symphony is ok with playing jazz |

Well, I've been a great fan of eminence and have enjoyed about 4 performances already, all of which managed to grab my interest and respect with the performers' skills and utter enthusiasm for their music.
But then, and this is a purely selfish comment, the repetoire used could be of more variety if thats possible. I mean, Hisaishi is fine, Lord knows I adore Hisaishi, and the Yuki Kajiura songs rocked at Passion, but many other beautiful pieces are missing. Most jarring, I think, is the lack of Yoko Kanno's pieces. Not the jazz ones, your orchestra is more classical after all, but what of her Wolf's Rain, her Escaflowne, Macross Plus stuff? Would be an idea I think, would definitely win me over completely. If you guys play Cowboy Bebop's Dijuridu, I will be forever a loyal, loyal fan! And if there are Xenogears songs (mitsuda's of course), my my, you gain points in my book!
cheers! |

Yes, there is plenty of great music by Yoko Kanno and Yuki Kajiura which Eminence hasn't played yet, and there is still some from the Ghibli films.
Also the music from Argento Soma, Crest of the Stars, Juuni Kokki, and Saiunkoku, among others is worthy-so much music, so little time! |

What about Canta Per Me II (Noir)?
I think I would just die if I ever heard that being played live.
In, uh, a good way. |

| Don't get me started on Kajiura - you've got a fan in senior staff right here. I can't promise anything though, it's not really up to me what goes in... |
