Just wondering whats a decent mobile provider to go with

Vodafone and Optus are the ones Im looking into atm

It really pisses me off how certain areas around the city have poor vodafone reception, you'd be worse off if you were stuck in the bush with voda compared to Optus, in australia of course Razz

So whats a good deal?

VODA!!!!!

i've figured out that with voda the coverage isn't as wide as optus's but the quality(?) of the reception is good

with optus, there's a wider coverage but the reception isn't as high quality(?)

*dont know if 'quality' is the right word or not..

I have 3. It's got the worst phones, the worst receptions AND you cant take it overseas... but it's really REALLY cheap...

I get 100 free text every month and free calls for 10minutes to other three phones...

I've had voda before, but i wasnt on a plan so it was really expensive..

Because he also has his personal phone, which I believe comes off contract soon.

Anyway, my personal picks are Voda for the value added features, but Optus for the better plans *shrugs*

lol,

apart from the company life, i also have a personal one Wink

And varying across which carrier i should opt for

gw33ntea, 3 sounds really popular amongst my friends but reading up on their deal i dont think it convince me much to go for them

So its a toss b/w voda or optus

The optus cap plans have recently had Optus yes time added to them as a bonus which means you get great caps as well as being able to call other optus mobiles between 8-midnight for free.

$49 = $300 (80c/min)
$59= $350 (""")
$79 = $550 (70c/min)

PTP for free

data packs in addition to gsm voice plans

$5 = 5mb
$15 = 20mb
$30 = 100mb

yay

i'm a voda prepay person.

they have various plans ..
night talk, txt, talker, max cap thingies.

if its the normal plans, like txt, talker, etc...
you can use it over two months Smile
and pay as little as $20

and you get your lil deals
say

if you choose the talker plan and pay $30, you get 100min free voda to voda
and calls per minute are 40 cents instead of 60 blahhhhh balhhhhh balh
carry over all the credits if you recharge before it expires...

its kinda sad, but i've accumulated almost 7hrs of free voda to voda.... . . . .
and i have free txt messages, cuz i switch between txter and talker plans Smile

but in the end, its best to probabkly choose whatever your friends and family are on. since they usually have free calls between the same carrier etc.

my whole family's on voda and a lot of my friends and.. *cough* eminence.. so yeh. voda's good. for me haha

I use optus prepaid. $30 gets me $120 of calls and due to some random O-week special last year, I also get 300 free sms a month.

I"m waiting to see what O-week this year brings...

The free text on Voda's good ... but even though I have a lotta family and friends on Voda, those free Vodafone2Vodafone minutes don't see much use ...

So it's probably better if you talk more than you text Smile

Everyone has pointed out good deals in terms of how much is spent on it per month.

What im more interested in is coverage, voda lately ive noticed has degrading coverage. I cant even reach full bars anymore, either that or im in an area where its just down right poor =/

Also, remember that a few of you would've been on a plans that expired or at least arent current to the new plans available on voda.

With the voda for instant, G mentioned the talker plan. Ive seen that icon here and there but it isnt clear.

The only dam obvious thing i see are the caps in prices. E.g 149$, 49$ and 79$.

Whats all with the other junk they give out?
XD

Optus is good.
You can get a higher end cap plan which gives you loads of free minutes and crap like that.

I'm biased and will say you should go with TELSTRA! ^^v
Lol, just cos my dad works for them XD
But my mum has Optus and she said there are heaps of "black spots" where your reception just cuts out...
Had a friend on vodaphone who changed cos voda had a simillar problem ^^

Telstra's reception is no doubt one of the best in australia. In terms of how much you're paying for usage. Its better to have one but not use it at all =P

Chris, check out the mySoul plans. 3rd party Optus company. Theyre alright, but no 3G support.
