I was reading some posts in Events Discussion, and I thought why don't Eminence do a rock concert?
I know it totally breaks away from orchestra concerts, but some animes do have rock music in them, even inclusive of the beginning/ending songs in animes. And I do know that perhaps with a rock concert, other musicians would have to be hired.
Also, could perhaps combine rock with the orchestra.
I know that the anime Cowboy Bebop, many of their songs are not typical orchestra music, but is awsome if played. And I'm sure that there are other animes like that.
It was just a suggestion though. |

You know, you have the same thought as I used to have awhile ago but never be able to get a time to write it down on here.
I want them to play Guilty Gear soundtrack! XDD and bring along Daisuke Asakura! XD[/u] |

That's an interesting expression........
Eminence has some pretty funky beats---thinking of Time's Scar :>, though that's hardly rock....somehow.....I can't picture it |

Hah, playing more upbeat songs would be fairly interesting.
There are a number of rock styled anime/game music that incorporate orchestral instruments and what not (Falcom Soundteam JDK!)
I wouldn't mind seeing say, Sakuraba Motoi ("Tales of" series, Baten Kaitos) come here and play something like "Fighting of the Spirits".

You'd be suprised what Hiro likes, and you'd be suprised what has been discussed in past years. With Eminence now recieving more support than ever in terms of fan support you never know what may happen in the future.
Let us catch our breah after Melbourne's ANIF07: SGE performance and keep an eye on us over the next year or so, I mean who knows what we'll do? Passion is a good example of something leading into something much bigger, ie: ANIF07 being split and the scale of the concert lifted by a great degree.
You guys aren't alone in your tastes... |

Why not... Ive been thinking about being silent in this topic but perhaps this would be intresting.
Having other rock bands as openers would be hard since not many apreciate game/anime music (i take it that is the idea) all they think about is killing the next thing to move ^___^
Take it to no offence if your into rock I am too so its aiiight.
But yeah personally I think this shouldnt be stretched too far either... might end up as brother says.... DISASTERIFIC! |

What I mean by stretched too far is we all need to consider practical constraints.
If we merely opened with a rock band, we'd have to pay them just for the opening.
The idea of an entire rock concert doesn't really fit Eminence...
The Black Mages however do, and so do a number of other equally cool alternatives swimming in my head.
As I said, let's provide our Melbourne audience with an awesome concert on Friday and work on the future afterwards.
Always, always provide suggestions for furture operations though. Whether that be music selection, concert types or otherwise, suggestions are always welcome. While we can't do most for various reasons, we're always watching... |

i know that 100% rock concert isnt eminence's style at all as it always into orchestral concert but have u ever thought of combining both ? For instance, listen to Final Fantasy VII : Advent Children's "One Winged Angel". FF7:AC's version of One Winged Angel is so much better than the original version that we heard from the console game or original final fantasy game concert. I reckon something like this would be nice. I reckon Nicole wont mind doing the arrangements for those music. |

| I don't know how many Silent Hill fans there are but maybe a song or two by Akira Yamaoka? It'll contribute to the rock theme and Australia's been missing out on his work =( |

As interesting as this would be.. *would love to hear bubblegum crisis 1987's Konya Hurricane"* I don't think it'd be portrayed as well through Eminence. the whole point of Eminence as that the Eminence orchestra did all those things. So far we only have one Electric/acoustic guitar switcher and a percussion player...
But don't take my word's too harshly.. it's just my views. |

The last time I attended a rock concert, I was almost crushed to death by a large number of crazed emos. If the entire crowd starts jumping up and down in time to the chorus of a song, I advise that you "mosh" with them to avoid being killed. I also don't recommend that you wear glasses that fall off easily when you're accidentally hit in the face by a hardcore fan who's waving their arms around to, like, totally rock out with the music.
I don't know if there would be much point in having opening acts for a video game music concert. It would be different people playing almost-identical songs, anyway, so it won't make much difference to the audience. Remember ANIF05, when guest performers included a soprano who sang for 15 seconds and the shamisen player who was only featured in half a song? The attention they received paled in comparison to that of the "regular" instrumentalists, so having official artist changes in the form of opening and main acts won't make much difference to the crowd. Having special guests such as J-Rock bands would be a completely different matter altogether, however. It would be potentially viable to attempt to rake in fans of, say, L'arc En Ciel.
What venue would such a rock concert be held at? It would be an undeniable departure from Eminence's usual style. Oh, and would it be under 18s and would it have a bar? Hmm. Such questions. |

MOOOSHHHHHHHHHHPIIITTTTTTTT XD good timmmess
and i said good openers cos they are really important in warming up the crowd and getting ppl psyched imo
and if we got something like the Pillows or Black Pearl ,or larc en ciel mentioned previously, by some miracle that would b great incentive for more ppl to come
The Hoardern Pavillion is prob the best venue as its got a large floor and seats but prob very expensive haha
and yeah i guess the age would b a problem cos a rock concert cant b without booze !!
buut this would b very hard to pull off but we can always dreammm |

Maybe I'm just scarred into disliking openers after having to wait 20 or so minutes for each band to remove its instruments (damn that drum kit! Why can't they share?) and for the new one to put its ones up. That took ages. Eminence wouldn't do foolish things like that, though, would it? |
