they played "a song of storm and fire" or something like that. rather than "storm and fire" which is a different arrangement and instrumental rather than with a choir or singing.
SO i reckon they shoudl play that heheh
although its not exactly orchestral.. . . .
maybe the nest passion
but yeh, i quite like this
um. wow i have quite a few recommendations. . . .
which i won't list yet
one things for sure, gotta have pieces by Tenmon
i so dont remember this being played at the melbourne show... but full orchestral version would be awsome |

I can't believe you picked that up. For you, G, I take off my hat. I was thinking nobody would pick it up. (even nitpicker Vonbon didn't)
And yeah, I didn't know the name of the song played at Passion so I just did with what I had. |

OST2 its just called "Storm and Fire"
Anyawy, we're straying off topic.
Like jzli, I also suggest Brothers or Sad Resolution from Full Metal Alchemist; more so Sad Resolution. |

Cruel angel's thesis from evangelion is good though I do feel the possible need to hear pachelbel's cannon. But that's diverging a lil >_>;
I would really love to hear 'Obsession' - See saw from .hack//Sign Or "The world" - By Yuki Kajiura From Sign again.
I would suggest .hack//roots but Ali project worked on that music and they became less symphonic... Although I would love to hear "God Diva" or "King knight" without lyrics. (So damn high and hard to sing x.X;)
I'll do a little more research But Digimon savers Has been promising during passion.
i'll probably think more later.. *is at net stand thingeh* |

ooooooooooh... CD = closing date!
And don't "deadline" and "Closing date" mean approximately the same thing?
Anyhows... enough nit-picking
That's not much time... get going with your suggestions people! |

so you want them to go through 25 different Anime OSTs (at around 2 hours each), to find suitable songs?
I doubt that will happen. Need them in nice format as specified in previous posts (I think the first one). |

Oops, guess I should check in more often.... will send a CD if it's ok.
- AMG Movie - some good stuff, esp Voices of the Goddesses and Song of an Angel - mainly choir
- Argento Soma - esp A Wonderful World, which has a convenient orchestral version
- Ayashi no Ceres - Scarlet
- Beyond the Clouds - plenty of great strings-heavy pieces
- Crest of the Stars and Banner of the StarsI&II - epecially the openings
- Earth Girl Arjuna - esp Didn't it Rain and One
- Escaflowne TV and Movie - plenty of pieces to choose from (hello Dance of Curse-again!), especially Flying Dragon, Shadow of Doubt and Final Vision
- Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny - plenty of good pieces, but Akatsuki non Kuruma and Find the Way in particular....
- Hack Sign - mostly vocals or piano, but BT is a wonderful piano and strings piece
- Haibane Renmei - lots of pieces for a smaller group
- Hoshi no Koe - piano pieces
- Jinroh - if you could find a vocalist who would sing Grace well I'd be eternally thankful!
- Juuni Kokki - there are so many great pieces, but the opening is a standout (Juuni Genmu Kyoku)
- Last Exile - some good stuff
- Legend of Galactic Heroes - I am Waiting for You and Skies of Love have intrumental versions
- Lodoss War (TV and OAV) - plenty of pieces, esp the orchestral version of Adesso E Fortuna and Kaze no Fantasia, and Travelling Elf
- Macross Plus - the National Anthem of Macross esp, or a version of Voices/Myung theme (again!)
- Macross Zero - Mayan and, though unlikely, Arkan part 2
- My Hime - mostly shorter pieces
- Noir - can you please play Canta Per Me? Please?
- S.E.N.S. - have done heaps of stuff for piano
- Someday's Dreamers
- Sousei no Aquarion - esp High Spirit, Brown Horses (needs a solo violinist, hint hint), Aquarius (requires a choir) and First Love Final Love
- Tsukihime - round up a choir for the opening, Sacred Moon! Not really your thing but one can hope.
- Turn a Gundam - esp Felicity and Song of a Stone
- Wolf's Rain - Go to Rakuen and Gravity
- Wonderful Days (Korean animated movie) - some interesting themes
- Xenosaga TV - the Opening (requires choir) and Aoi Wakusei
- more music from Kiki, Porco Rosso, Laputa and Nausicaa
- Avalon (Japanese movie) - music by Kenji Kawaii, lots of good stuff, esp with vocals
I know it's a long list, but what can I say, I like my anime music. |

Avalon is not an Anime.
Please stick to the following format.

Keeping in mind that it should be what a Symphony orchestra can play
Just saying WhateverAnimeTitles is way too broad for us to think of what decent music pieces can be played from it. |

Here's a rough count of composers and anime that have been mentioned in this thread plus the old thread. Rough because it includes people posting more than once...
It's hard to generate meaningful statistics, but at least we know Evangelion and Hack have been mentioned by at least a few people. The series with many songs are probably wothwhile too even with at low count.
I was actually surprised to see Evangelion because I don't remember seeing it many times. So that's why these stats are useful.
Oh yeah it's over now, but one question: if we send a CD does that mean we would have to already own 2 copies, one for ourselves and one to send? There's not really time to buy a copy to send off (at least 2 weeks).

Note that the CD must arrive at our address BY Friday.

Oh, so 18 is, like, bigger than 11? Thanks for letting me know that Koganei, I get confuzzled sometimes while counting me fingers, toes and stuff. I was a bit rushed, so, no, not everything was itemised - I couldn't remember the exact details of everything.... I don't know all my favourite music off by heart.
If anyone from Eminence says it's still ok, I am happy to send a cd, late though it may be, or provide more details. |
