I'm on the lookout for a string quartet for my upcoming wedding (Yes, you heard me. I'm getting marry in less then six months! Hooray!!!). I've been to a few others and they cost more then $1000 for an hour and a half.

Why dont you try to contact Music Faculties in Universities, I think they should cost less than those who have graduated already :p but I dont know about that... |

Erm, I don't know where you're getting your quotes from, BUT....
When I got married a few years ago, the string quartet I had only cost me less than $400 for an hour and a half. Mind you, they weren't nearly as good as some quartets that I've heard since then (probably a case of 'you get what you pay for'!). And trust me when I say that it's the last thing you want to not go well during your most important day!
Anyway, that was before I had even remotely heard of Eminence and had had any exposure to the higher calibre of the musicians in the orchestra.
Now that I've been involved with the business side of Eminence (I'm their former general manager), I know what is a reasonable rate that a professional musician usually charges for casual performances like weddings.
What many people may not realise is that musicians from Eminence can be (and have already been in many cases) hired for casual/commercial performances. And at pretty competitive rates. If you really want a good quartet for your wedding, PM me and I can let you know about how Eminence might be able to organise one for you. |

Aww man! Now you got me turning my wedding into a concert of the year. Eeep! Will have to wait and see in a few weeks. Damn tight schedules. >.<
