If you are selected then you will be contacted by a member of staff, usually the Human Resources Manager. As we near an event we will assess our resource requirements, and recruit as necessary. So, if you indicate you are interested we will always start with people such as yourself Smile

For now, Passion resource requirements have already been met, but rest assured that future events are always being planned. We are always in need of good people!

Minty, refresh my memory please. Are you in Sydney or Melbourne?

Melbourne is suffering from a distinct shortage of good volunteer help.

Sydney is mostly full, but as there are TWO planned concerts in 07 then there may be a need to look at resourcing for both events now.

Also, while we generally look for volunteers to help with the marketing (ie. postering and flyering) as well as during events, we are also interested in individuals with particular skills or experience that may be of benefit to other departments in Eminence.

Hey everyone, I've just updated the first post to make it a clearer on the details and of course the status of the recruiting in each city.

If there's any questions, please email or PM myself (Termin8Anakin for Sydney) or Soon (Patryn for Melbourne).
Our emails are in the first post.

For the most part you'd be attending crew meetings and placing our posters up in stores and the like. When we have flyers, you'd be assisting the distribution of those as well.

If you work at the concert, your role varies considerably depeding on the venue, concert and so on. Our crew perform many jobs including merchandise and ticket sales, backstage assistance and so on.

How can you help? By being in our crew you become an integral part of Eminence, without our crew Eminence would simply not exist. By helping the crew you are effectively helping us make our concerts better, whether that be by spreading the word to the public, helping us organise the concert or turning up on the day to ensure the concert runs as smoothly as possible. While at this stage it is most likely too late to put your hand up in time for ANIF07: SGE, you're more than welcome to apply for future events.

or you can apply now, but you might not have anything to do until after the concert. Very Happy

Eminence Sydney is taking in volunteers!

We may be able to squeeze you in for Destiny Reunion on the 28th July, but if not, then you'll definitely be able to help out at the next concert!

See the first post for contact information.

sydney crew have a restriction that crew must be in uni or older, just to save the hassle of high school kids not being allowed to stay out late(r) at night and then the HSC etc.
i'm not too sure if melbourne have any restrictions

I don't believe we do.
Though it is advisable that if you do want to help out with advertising and you are underage, to get a couple of friends to join with you or help you out, so that you're not alone.

But we're a generally nice crew... if you have the time to devote to helping Eminence out, and you're in Melbourne, go for it.

If you don't have the time however, then wait until you do before applying to join. It'll save heaps of time for everyone. ^^

i think I'll just set the minimum age at 16... anyone doing year 12 VCE need not apply until after they finish!
This is for Melbourne ONLY! So bad luck to all you Sydney ppls. ^^

Oh, and when you commit, we'd like you to stay on for a while... make some good friends within the crew! ^^ But you can take a break if you need to. We're not slave drivers...

I think I should post an FAQ of some sort on the first page for recruitment (after discussions with Soon, of course lol).

I'll repeat this again though:
The reason why we prefer people who are 17+ years of age is because generally when you've finished school you usually would have a lot more time to volunteer, and your parents probably wouldn't be so restrictive on you.
This doesn't mean we won't let you join just because you're in high school.
A lot of the Sydney crew are or were high schoolers, and some of them didn't have much trouble with their folks.

REGARDLESS of what your age is though, if you know your parents are going to give you strife about constantly helping out Eminence and working late nights, then perhaps you should think again about whether you SHOULD volunteer or not.

The same goes for whether you have a paying job.

Of course we value your dedication and enthusiasm (even if you sneak out from the house to do it XD), but if you keep on telling us you can't help out because 'Mum and Dad won't let me' or 'I have work', then what's the point?

You both got good points, however I wouldnt mind, rather I would encourage each cities to have different rules. People should really adapt to each cities situation and circumstances imo.

I'd rather have a clear outline for all crew. Exceptions can always be made, but to avoid confusion, it would be good to have one set of "rules" for an FAQ.

*yawn*
