| Melbourne is exposed to higher UV radiation as the Ozone Hole stretches JUST up to Melbourne, while us, Sydney siders remain relatively safer when outdoors. |

It would cost more for a ticket if they held one in Brisbane than it would cost flying to Melbourne or Sydney.
And let alone Brisbane, they were almost going to stop Melbourne's and make it Sydney only... ANIF07 should have eliminated any doubts they about that. I still think Melbourne has a larger anime/games following than Sydney |

Hello :)
I know that this is a rather old post, but... how much support do you need to justify playing in other cities? 200+? How do you measure it? I would love to see Eminence playing in Hobart :) (it's not *that* far away....) :P
mad1dude wrote: Hi, and welcome to our forum!
We'd love to be able to present an event in Brisbane, however the sheer economics of bringing such events to other capital cities mean that there needs to be enough demand to warrant it.
We recognise that there are many fans of the genres that our performances cover that are located in other states other than those we currently cover. We would dearly like to be in a position where we can bring our performances to people such as yourself.

Melburnians can be a rowdy bunch... I'm sure Eminence wouldn't want a G8 summit like riot at their doorsteps, would they? Then again, if we're at their doorsteps in Sydney we might as well attend the concert there.
Shucks, SAE would be more my thing since I watch more anime than I play games.
Oh, and good luck, Brisbane people. Us Melburnians can empathise. You'll definitely get one eventually since your population will eventually provide a big enough market. |

I think a good rule to go by is:
If Eminence can be "guaranteed" it wouldn't make a loss by holding a concert in another city, then you might be able to expect a concert in other cities... providing Eminence has the time to hold a concert there.
it's not just a money thing either... timing plays a critical factor in a lot of planning... and venue needs to be chosen.
But yeah.. it would be good to see some sort of Australia wide tour... ^^ |

The only thing i *CAN* confirm is that it WON'T be called the Symphonic Anime Edition if an anime-only concert is ever announced for this year. At most it'll probably be a small to medium ensemble, but definitely won't be a full symphony orchestra.
From what I know from experience, a full symphonic concert (like the ANIF:SGE concerts) requires a significant budget, a large amount of planning and organising, lots of musicians and staff, and plenty of lead-up marketing and PR activity. Quite literally, the planning for the symphonic ANIF concerts is usually started at least a year in advance due to the sheer size and scale of the event. It also has to tie in with a larger plan (yeah, there *IS* always a bigger picture LOL).
I believe that plans have changed such that another full-scale symphonic style concert in Melbourne MAY instead be held next year. But don't quote me on that, it's just a guess
Anyway, the good thing about smaller concerts, as we've seen with Passion and Destiny Reunion, is that they are easier to organise based on demand, can be scheduled with more flexibility in terms of venue availability, and tickets cost less to audiences. It also means that potentially those concerts can reach more locations (like Japan and USA with Destiny Reunion). Plus, because they are smaller and more intimate then you get a different experience altogether too.
So, I think there could be some more good stuff to come!
EDIT: changed wording slightly in the 1st para so it's clearer. |

Actually... tickets for DR and ANIF:SGE were about the same... ANIF:SGE actually had cheaper seats, but that's because there were lots more seats up the back! xD
The A reserve for ANIF:SGE were just a bit more than A reserve for DR, but then again... it was a more intimate concert and more fun had by all! xD
And YAY for a concert next year! around when SGE was on is good! |

ZOMGz! I can't believe it! Melbourne got part 1 (SGE) but don't get part 2 (SAE)?!? Wasn't SGE enough of a success in Melbourne that we get SAE too?
Siiiiigh... we get Formula 1 and the Australian Open but we can't get the full Eminence treatment that Sydney gets.
I'm gonna cry into my pillow at night if Sydney's Symphonic Anime Edition plays Death Note music (which I even suggested in the suggestions thread ).
Next year's symphonic concert will probably be ANIF'08 that Sydney gets anyway.
But whatever concert we get, yeah, please not during 1st Dec to 7th Jan for me. |

Erm. Perhaps I didn't quite make myself clear enough.
There won't be another full-scale symphonic concert AT ALL this year. For Sydney OR Melbourne.
I never said that Sydney would get SAE and Melbourne wouldn't |

I need one more:
I didn't see anything about Sydney not getting it too; I thought everything you said was in reference to Melbourne's SAE.
Wow... that was unexpected. I'm so sorry to hear that. I thought having ANIF split into SGE and SAE was planned right from the start and it was almost sure that there were gonna be those two. |
