Hi Guys,

I recorded Sunday nights concert and have some pretty awesome mp3s to share. I just want to know if i have permission to post them here for the fans to listen to. Im listening to them at work at the moment, and i must admitt that it turned out great.

For those who want to know, i used Sennhesier MKE-2 mics going to a Korg MR-1 recorded in DSD format (1-bit 2.8Mhz).

Cheers,

Trav.

yeah... sounds awesome. Though, i'd go out on a limb here and say that public distribution of this stuff would be frowned upon.

Unless of course... was there a thing on ur ticket saying no recording? or did they have an announcement stating that?

*wasn't there*

if not, I believe you may be within ur rights to distribute as you see fit. Although... selling it would definitely be going too far.

It states: "Cameras, Videos and / or audio recorders will not be permitted."

It doesn"t seem to say anything about recordings, just that the equipment itself is not permitted.

I apologise if i did something wrong. I am a big fan and have purchased every dvd and cd you have distributed (including the recent Destiny CD). I made the recording for my own benefit. I wasnt and will never sell what i recorded. I thought that seeing there are so many videos on Youtube, a good quality recording to tide us over till a possible cd release might be nice for us fans.

Actually, we all do appreciate the great performances that have been put on by the musicians and I for one would love to have my own personal recordings too, just to listen to their excellent music again.

BUT

Having been previously involved with Eminence at a senior management level, and having personally met and worked with these musicians, I know for a fact that they do have to make an honest living out of doing these performances. They are afterall counting on continued income from future recording projects and CD sales to continue to do what they do so well.

So, I guess IF these high quality mp3s ever made it out to general availability, then it will impact directly on the musicians. I'm not even talking about Eminence itself, who have to pay them, but ultimately it's the musicians who are affected.

They are a great bunch of guys and gals and are obviously very talented musicians in their own right. If they are affected enough then they simply won't be able to play the kind of music you all love anymore. It's as simple as that.

It's great to be a fan and be really keen about the music, but that's what the CDs are meant to be for. If people really want to have CDs of concerts, then make sure you tell the Eminence team this. If they believe that demand is strong enough, they will make a CD.

In the meantime, I think unless any permissions have been granted (and it was really only given for Destiny) then it's probably best not to make any personal recordings available to others. For everyone's sake.

Just my 2 cents Smile

I agree with mad1dude. It's the same theory as buying legitimate games, if you like the game, and you want to support the makers, buy it. Also encourage others to buy it and don't distribute around a pirated copy.
Now, in that regard, it would be good if we COULD buy it. I personally would have liked a CD of PSIV and CD/DVD of ANIF07: SGE, but we were told they weren't being made. Personally, they don't even need to be studio recordings, just make a CD/DVD of the live recordings. It saves Eminence money and keeps fans happy.

I took recordings of ANIF07: AE myself, but I never intended to release them to the public, they were only for my personal keepsake.

And you should have Terence announce that recordings aren't permitted as well. I didn't know recordings weren't permitted, last time he announced it at SGE, so I didn't record or take photos, and I was fine with that. But he didn't say anything this time, and we were sitting in the second row, so he would have seen us, so I assumed it was OK. Not many people will go reading their ticket. I, for one, didn't.
