I think I recall Hiro-San saying something about a special concert for Melbourne? Or is my mind playing tricks on me?
But anyway, I wish this was coming to Melb...wouldn've been so nice T^T |

The 3pm concert was very enjoyable, a pity there weren't alot more people there to see it. I wonder if the anime/gaming concert market has reached its limit for now? Hope that the performers weren't too disheartened. Haibane music FTW.
I'm not sure what I was expecting, but Aika's singing was certainly different to what I normally listen to. Live it was interesting. Her voice sounded different, I'm guessing that was deliberate and part of the 'style'? I hope that we get to hear plenty of other international performers. |

Hey guys, I'm new here haha.
Anyways, a friend of mine just returned from the 3pm concert and told me all about it, it sounded great! Though the turn out didn't sound too good, I really wish I could have been there, but usually I can't go to Eminence's December concerts (wasn't at Passion either, argh!). Though I have been to every concert other than Passion since Piano Stories III, so maybe that makes up for it? Nah.
So all you Eminence peeps, don't be discouraged! I would have loved to see Koh Otani and the rest of you guys! Just keep at it! I swear I'll be at your next one! At least my friend bought me a poster, and him and his brother are going tomorrow AGAIN! Whoo!
Just puttin' it out there, best wishes. |

Yees, that would be my brother and I. We felt we didn't show our appreciation enough the first time so if i can rally together the funds we'll try harder tomorrow.
That aside the concert was great, i seriously didn't think the improvisation was..an improvisation to the extent that it was. Fantastic work for sure.
Kudos to Kow Otani for playing the harpsichord and piano at the same time with 2 different melodies, i was blown away.
Keep up the great work guys! I hope to see Kow Otani return again in the future! |

The 3pm session was quite good. a minor technical issue marred the performance but other wise it was great to see Kow Otani live and his musical arrangements. i loved how the bells on his feet would complement the music so well.
it'd be worth going again just to hear the improvisation piece.
Aika's singing style is different but the amount of energy she has and the resonance of her voice for me is absolutely stunning. the rawness of it makes it more than just your ordinary singer. |

Guess you're going then.
Cos tickets are always available at the door, unless sold out. |

To anyone that went to see the concert on the weekend, i was the guy to the left with all the sound gear . I must apologise to those that went to the 3pm Sat session and had to hear the buzz from the speakers. We got it sorted for the following sessions. I found out that the Conservatorium has a known problem with using PA gear in the hall and they didnt tell us.
Anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed Otani-san's and Aika-san's perfomance. I found it quite a mind blowing experience. Of course the Eminence musicians were brilliant and full of energy. The intensity of Aika's voice combined with Mr Otani's musical brilliance had to be seen to believed!!!! |

Sorry, I'm going to have to keep that under wraps at the moment
Yes the picture was pretty cool. I was there when Otani-san got on his hands and knees to grab some tape off the floor to stick the picture to the piano.
Back on topic, come on people and tell us what you thought of the concert!!!!! |

i didn't make it... but i heard some stuff about it.
i heard the turn-out wasn't good. anyone have any ideas why? not like it was during hsc or big exams. i wonder why it was so low tho.
the scary thing is that it's starting to happen more and more often. does it mean that eminece is struggling at all? is that why this concert wasn't held in melbourne? it would explain a lot.
...i'm a little concerned. What do you think? |

i was there for the Sunday 7pm concert, and yes the turnout was a bit disappointing, but i was told that the first three sessions had more people so yeah..
i was indifferent to the improv pieces (they felt a bit long as well :/), although i did like the violin solo
i LOVED the sequence of A Little Plate's Rondo - Starting of the World - Toga, to me that was the highlight of the performance
as for the vocal songs...i really liked Strawberry Fields and those jazzy ones that followed...Aika definitely has a unique voice!
overall, i enjoyed it a lot (will there be a recording of Unearthing Eden?)
and here's my ranking for the Eminence concerts that i've been to:
1. Passion (NOTHING WILL TOP THIS - i had my Chrono Trigger OST signed by Mitsuda-san that night!!! ^_^)
2. Ayako's Violin Recital
3. Unearthing Eden
4. Piano Stories 3 |

Nobody's commented about that mad awesome drum roll special that Ohtani-sama did.....
I felt myself in stitches.
The Ohtani-sama Josh-san super drum pair rocked!!! |

| I was at the 3pm Sunday concert... i really couldn't choose a piece I really liked for a while fo complete the survey but all in all I just loved the concert. And it was interesting to see Eminence use a recording playing in the back ground for the first Time :3 was great though :D |

I was at the 7pm one on Sunday and the turn out was better than 3pm Sunday and the crowd was alot more responsive lol
I generally thought that the overall feel of the last concert was a lot more lively than the sat. one, especially with Otani eating the instruments, that was hilarious. Definitely a worthwhile concert.
I really enjoyed Black Rabbit and God's Island, those 2 had a very cool jazzy feel to them. Speaking of which, is there anyway to buy those CDs that were won at the concert? I wouldn't mind a copy if i could get a hold of them.
Ahh i wish i was here for Passion last year, dammit i was on holidays. The reason why a couple of my friends couldn't go to this concert was because they either weren't in the country or in the state, much like myself last year. |
