I was just wondering, how did all the musicians become involved.

And, is it possible to join the orchestra etc. now?

yeah i play piano too, but no where near as good as the guy they've already got. he's amazing! Did you guys hear him play in ANIF04? When they played a song from FFX he did the piano bit and it was awesome! i was so inspired!! although... *blushes* i'm very lazy on piano...

I just remembered his name, it's Alexey Yemtsov, he played in front of the President one time.

ANIF05 is the first eminence event i've been too.

Before i was talking in another forum, and was told about ANIF04 a day after it was performed, and when i was told Nobuo Uematsu was a guest of honour there...i was quite dissapointed.

The next events such as PS and Destiny, I will certainly try to come. I tried to go to destiny this year, but when i tried to buy tickets, i was told they were sold out.

So I haven't heard a lot of the pianist in the orchestra...yet.

I think most of the musicians come from the Conservatorium of Music. And some of those are probably Hiro's personal friends whom he dragged into the group. XD

And you know what's so crazy? Apparently he had never seen/heard any of the music before; he just rocked up to the concert, had a look at the sheet music, and performed it.

i dont remember a chocobo song in PSI

however "mambo de chocobo" was played in PSII

and that should've been in FFV. But warning, this is purely from my memory. And ...I have bad memory.

It was the ffV chocobo theme at PSII, which is Mambo de Chocobo. The techno one from FFVI so kicks its arse.

i had a listen to the song, and a read of the sheet music of the chocobo song he played. He probably couldve figured out how to play it after listening to it and like less then 20 minutes of playing around on it - at his level. (i dunno, would some one really be THAT unprepared and confident for a concert to just walk up and sight read a piece he has never heard?I still haven't heard him play technically before though.)
the left hand las a lot of common ostinatos but the rhythm is a little tricky and some small jumping around.
probably take a least 2 weeks for me to get it perfect, with really really hard work and concentration.
mr seraph could you possibly ask him how long it took him to pick up the piece?

no, decisive battle is much harder, listen to the bass carefully, you'll hear there are parts with huge fast jumps. plus i think there are 2 key changes in the song. maybe 3, hard to hear.

true...... but in the style, i mean, quite upbeat.... and chocobo was very articulated and stacatto....where u didn't really need to do that in decisive battle cuz it's kidna flowing......

the piano version is supposed to have an emphasis on staccato lol. even the OST's melody have quite quick long notes. the accompaniment of the orchestra however does has a lot of sustained notes, hence giving it the "flowing" feeling.
