For someone who's only seen one ep of australian idol (the finale)
and for me to complain... *sigh*

why kate.
Why not emily
why pick the uglier one
why choose the one who can't sing as well

i watched the final too. emily should've won, I think more australians voted for kate because she kept coming back after getting rejected twice.
Its becoming a bit like a who can get the most sympathy contest.

I just hope its not another stupid mistake like last year..kasey donovan...clearly most people voted for her because of her messy personality and her size.

Guy Sebastian, as good as a singer he is (yeah he's got a great voice,and unique) but Pauline probably had the better one by far, but Guy had a good personality that a lot of people loved.

Australian Idol isn't entirely just a singing contest, which is why i don't keep up with it. also its not that much of an exciting show in my eyes.

idol was sort of lacking this year...wasn't as appealing as the first season i guess when everyone was pretty talented, but this year they were all just mediocre. with the exception of emily and anne. in my opinion the final shoudl've been between those two...but obviously that didn't materialise and i'm extremely annoyed..but what you gonna do *shruggliez*

but...talent-wise, emily was the clear winner. i think kate won because, as one of my friends said to me, she engaged better with audiences...and she could sing, though not as good as emily.

and kasey...erm...well she has a powerful voice. but she died after her first single. did she even release a second?

and i'm sorry...kyle as a judge? he has no idea what he's on about.

well i'm not ashamed to say i watched most of idol this year and i even voted!! yes i frickin voted! and still the annoying, talentless one won. Kate was not creative or engaging at all i thought >( I VOTED FOR EMILY GOD DAMN IT!!

i watched, in total, 2 episodes of idol...the big band one and the final. neither impressed me too much

I have a feeling that if Emily had one, there'd still be a similar thread to this Razz

Yeah I watched it this year (first time tho). But I don't agree with the whole "vote" thing coz people are stupid and often the wrong people get through. The judges should have more of a say towards the end, says I. That way we know an Australian Idol is picked by best talent PLUS popularity, not just the latter....

i reckon the idea of usingthe word idol is not misleading really, i mean you can be an idol if ur not singing at all, so i dun like it.... yeah whatever....

i pity him. I also hate him because he supposed to be extremely smart (engnineering degree or something?or was that the american one?) yet he was completely oblivious that he was a form of comedy for australians.

He had a lot of guts standing in front of the states showing his talents, even though he didnt even make it pass the main rounds.

He also made money from the CD he produced out.

but it's a shame that they're not really appreciating him for his 'talent', rather, because it gives everybody a laugh.....

but i dunno, maybe that's what the American trend is now.....

laughing at others (for their misfortunes etc) has always been one fo the main forms of comedic entertainment.
many comedians just make fun of other people (eg rove making fun of howard and bush etc) and well, everyone seems to love it.

Its not just america, most of the western cultures are like that

I was going for Emily!!! She so deserve to win!

I dont mind that Kate won though. She tried 3 times and got all the way through on her third go through sheer determination. So props to her i guess :p

But Emily was da bomb. She was a ghetto super star. A true inspiration man.
