Ok. What do you guys think?

My mum reckons that RED XIII looks like the devil...

I don't think it does. Just an exaggerated tiger/lion [drawing].

he looks like some roughed up gangster dog XD. far from the devil.

must be the red. not to mean anything offensive, but i think your mum is thinking too deep into it.

exactly! i even said to her that what if it was blue - then it wouldn't represent the devil eh?? not to say that blue represents anything, but that ppl have the stereotype of the devil.....

i asked my youth leader what he thuoght, he just laughed, lol

when i see Red XIII i sought of picture him as an traditional Indian wolf with a peaceful spirit, it's never occured to me either that he could look like the devil. ... Confused

I just see it more like a dog, no more and no less Rolling Eyes although really mean looking, funny that REDXIII is really nice and a bit childish in the game Razz

btw he only spoke 1 line in FF7AC man that is not right

besides, the main colour that is associated with evil is black.

The colour associated with the devil is red. Atleast in Christianity it is.

i thought black is symbol of darkness and white is purity, holiness and other things.....

red being a bad colour.... i only can think of superstitious (sorry for spellig) people who never writes or signs documents in red (symbol for bad luck) based on western believe at least.

but red is a fav colour for chinese culture i think

I agree in that we dont know what devil looks like (can look like anything if he wanted, and usually something pleasent - being decietful an all)
Ive never heard of a red dog/cat indian thingy being associated with him though
Maybe she just doesnt like the looks of him? Smile

when illustrated te devil would usually look red. I highly doubt that red is associated with teh devil purely because of christianity.

only one part of the bible refers to a red dragon who is also refered to as serpent, an animal symbolic of the devil, from genesis with adam and eve and the fruit. If you happen to have a bible lying around or something you can look it up Revelation 12. This is pretty much one of the only places where the bible refers to red as somewhat evil. (other bits of revelation also have some other beasty things with red features.)

Besides a lot of things in the bible are refered to as red, or the colour of red is used. eg: wine, blood, Red Sea, Esau was born with red hair, some bibles even have text coloured in red pointing out what Jesus says. so it would be quite ironic.

Red being associated to the devil is more likely a secular thing, than all christianity.

if you played the game, they had movie clips in there which owned the playing scenes

those movies, looked pretty close to the AC version

Also, in terms of nature, red is the colour of danger... on land, anyway. I don't know why, it just is.

The fmv's in FFVII look inferior to AC... But they're still great. They served their purpose. Very Happy

coz red is associated with colour of fire?

for danger signs..... is it because they are easier to see? and stands out more among the bushes?
