Discuss NANA manga (by Ai Yazawa), NANA movie + Anime

First and foremost.... I love love love this manga. Has anyone read it?

There's more to the stroryline than 2 young women of opposite characters meeting by 'fate'... uhh... not your typical shoujo boy-meets-girl either.

The plot is intricatly woven around real-life situations in modern Japan i.e relationships, careers. It's also realistic in the sense that it reflects modern music genres (pop-rock, punk), fashion (Vivienne Westwood), and other items (i.e. cigarette brands- Black Stones, Seven Stars.)

I've been reading it for a year =] And though there have been prolonged breaks where it's been slow in scanlating I always get back to it...

BUT I LOVE THE LOVE SONG FROM THE MOVIE!!!!! ---> Reira starring Ito Yuna - Endless Story
such a nice song.... *_* beautiful lyrics too!

something i dont get is why they always refer to her as 'Reira starring Ito Yuna' o_O

haha i've read quite a bit of this manga..
and it became quite boring for me. Repetitive boring kind.

i watched the first ep of the anime which turned out to be very boring for me too since it's the same as the manga.
except for the fact that OMG Edward Elric's voice o_O as Nana.......

Okay.

but eh. Not my thing. Smile

I .. guess I can see why it's popular.. Maybe.

I prefer paradise kiss haha.

I'm not a huge fan of the movie either.... I thought Mika Nakashima couldn've done a better job. The Hachi girl was sweet though =]

As for music, I suggest you try the 'LOVE FOR NANA~ Only 1 tribute' album... it's a collection of tracks by artists such as Ai Otsuka, Tommy Heavenly6, TETSU69 (L'Arc~en~ciel), Do As Infinitiy etc dedicated to the manga. The album is separated into Trapnest and Black Stones groupings, depending on the style of music.

i just watched the movie two days ago and i thought it was ok... really sweet tho =]

i loved hachi.... and her sense of fashion! really cute, hahah. didn't really like mika nakashima though.... lol, i've never really liked her so that's not surprising XD the guy who was yasu looked like a morpheus-wannabe, lol i thought that was pretty funny! that guy is cool too!

the first song that trapnest performed at the concert in hachi's hometown... does anyone have it? i really like it! haha as well as endless story. been searching online but i cant seem to find it anywhere... [ the other trapnest song ]

btw, did anyone understand what ito yuna (reira) said after the concert? something like "even homer nods once in a while, its a saying!" or something like that... i didnt get it... explanation anyone?

i heard from my friends that the movie doesnt live up to your expectations if you are a original NANA manga fan...

i dont like Hachi T___T just her character makes me angry coz she just hurts ppl without realising..i know that we wuld hurt ppl whenever we like it or not...but i just hope that she wuld just be more sensitive to other ppls needs XD

Nana is reali complicated =/ but omg Ren is so hot in the manga >< hes like one of the hottest characters in the story but i reali like Yasu =D yasu is so cool and he just has this cool air around him and hes just the type that would want to look up to ^^

Shin is actuali reali cool even tho hes still a youngling and he doesnt know whats hes doing =/ but yeah i reali hope he gets back wif Reira >< Nobu is actuali not bad...but that boy confuses me coz at the latest releases =/ he supposedly still likes Hachi and in the manga they said Nobu admires women..=/ dont reali Hachi is a extremely good role model.

but i reali love Nana and i reali love the song Olivia inspired Reira (trapnest) - A little pain <3 its just so sad yet touching!
