Just an FYI for anyone planning to goto Tokyo.
Get off at JR Harajuku station, and make your way to Omote Sando.
(thru the Takeshi ave or the Omote Sando exit). Think of it as the bestest Pitt Street mall ever.
On the south side of teh road as you pass the Oriental Bazaar, the next block youll see a shop called Piano Kawai.
There is also a Kawai in Osaka on the Ground floor of the Ekimae Daisan Building South of the JR Station.
In here just ask the shop assistant "sumimasen, anime wa doko des ka?" and she:ll show u an awesome selection of aniem and game sheet music.
I wanted to buy everything, but settled on FFVII Piano collections and Howls Moving Castle OST and Image Soudntrack.
Theyve got lots from Grandia, Xenosaga, FF7.8.9.10 Piano Collections and other anime.
Please let me know if you know of another place to find sheet music in Japan. Im currently in Sapporo. PM me please!

| Official Sheetmusic would be near impossible to find as it would be illegal to distribute them. Unlike illegal software, movies and games, there are no where near as many people sharing sheetmusic... |

for final fantasy arranged music in different instruments, i used to go to http://www.nobuouematsu.com/sheet2.html , not sure if they still update it though
if you wanna buy the whole book, then kinokuniya sydney has some studio ghibli, final fantasy and others, but dun expect a good one coz i bought it already _________________ I dunno better things to write for my signature so here it goes! |

Kinokuniya has an excellent sheet music section that not many people know about. In fact, hardly anyone ever searches there; the order of the books is almost untouched every time I visit the store. I've purchased the Final Fantasy Guitar Solo Book and a Studio Ghibli Guitar Collection from there. Lucy also recently (or not so recently) bought a Final Fantasy Random Piano Collections From All Series Or Something Like That book after being initiated into the secrets of the imported sheet music by yours truly.
The prices are quite good, with most of the books ranging from $35-$45. There are random Japanese guitar books, folk music, anime music (Studio Ghibli, Full Metal Alchemist and Gundam, from what I remember) and some video game music (namely Final Fantasy). This is without a doubt the finest non-Internet selection I have ever seen. However, for popular and film sheet music, Allans Music has an even wider variety.
Come to think of it, even a Kinokuniya staff member didn't know about their Japanese sheet music section. I was rewarded with a "wat u tokin about, n00b?" stare, but luckily stumbled upon it later on by myself. What excellence! _________________ I love Belinda and all of her dancing children and/or goldfish. |

Wow thanks for that!
Is this the Sydney store?
Might be a bit much to ask, but can you draw out where it is in the store? lol |

Heh.
Hmm...how should I describe this? It's in the far end of the store, near the anime and manga section and directly next to a collection of figurines, which are in turn adjacent to a desk.
I apologize for the vague instructions, but perhaps a crudely-constructed map would help.
If you're an Eminence volunteer and happen to be part of a flyer run...I'll conveniently hand some out to Kinokuniya with you and show you where it is in person. _________________ I love Belinda and all of her dancing children and/or goldfish. |

and on top of what 187 said, it should be at 3 rd shelve from the left. If you can't read japanese, dun worry about it coz there should be english writings on them (hint: look for final fantasy books first, because they always have the roman numeric numbers so you can find the section first)
technically kinokuniya is in a building owned by citygroup (that's the big sign you see on top of the building)
as of level of difficulty, the normal books are ok, but the piano compilation of all FF are difficult especially 9 & 10 (because i still suck at piano >_<) _________________ I dunno better things to write for my signature so here it goes! |

I had a look at Kinokuniya's sheet music selection the other day, and it was rather limited.
Saw the Howls Moving Castle album that i bought from japan and it was REALLY pricey. Also so a small bit of FF series and FMA there.
Not bad, but again rather limited selection. |

There used to be quite a bit more, until people began to realize that such a section indeed existed. Bah. _________________ I love Belinda and all of her dancing children and/or goldfish. |
