One of my teachers introduced a nifty site to me recently: http://www.rikai.com/perl/Home.pl

It has links to all sorts of news reports in Japanese and the furigana and meanings to all the kanji that is found on the site (just mouse over the kanji).

And best of all, there's a great function which allows you to paste in Japanese text or a link to Japanese text, which then gets the same furigana/meanings treatment!

Besides the Japanese > English option, the site also has English > Japanese, Chinese > English and Spanish > English options to choose from.

Sure beats using my big yellow brick of a kanji dictionary whilst surfing the net!

Theres actually a firefox extension called rikaichan.. which is basically just rikai.com but on the fly for all sites. It might have been featured on the rikai site.. which would render this reply useless.. but i dont think i saw it, or its not affiliated with rikai.com or somethin...

Even so, very handy for Japanese learners Smile

for those interested to actually take japanese classes instead of just self studying on-line, can check out this language centre.

www.jic.com.au

the centre also teaches mandarin if any of you interested. and they also have training program for those interested to teach overseas or intern program for those wanting to become japanese assistant language teacher.

the new semester is starting real soon on July 31.

if anyone need some assurance to how interesting the classes are or how classes will be conducted, can just ask me for i am a student there myself currently Very Happy
