Wii. Tee hee hee.

Has any news been announced as to how much the console will cost? It's inevitable that I will purchase one, but at what stage I can't say.

It may be more effective to simply continue with Nintendo DS games and wait for a drastic price drop for the Wii.

Also, because I know you crave extremely lame humour, Wii = wiin. Oh yes.

Hm.. yes
that person in pink does look strangely similar to a person i know :p

Back on the Wii
Some guy, obviously a person with a lot of time on their hands, has made a scale replica of the Wii using card board and hes then taken the liberty to take an obscene amount of pictures with it next to other familiar items here

Theres speculation that the price of the Wii will be US$250 which would roughly translate into something like $400 in Aussie dollars.

Wow...

No offense to you guys or anything, but having only ever been on forums full of gamers like myself, I had no idea some people knew so little about these kinds of things. I guess I just assumed that all people on the Internet were game geeks Razz

Known info:
- Wii will retail for US$250 maximum.
- Satoru Iwata said that games shouldn't cost more than US$50, so I doubt we'll be seeing $120 games like on Xbox360.
- Wii is set to launch in the last quarter of this year. PS3 is due around the 17th of November from memory, so I'd say they'll try and match or beat that. Originally Iwata said he would like to aim for a worldwide release within 14 weeks (or days?), but I'm not sure if this is still the plan.
- All information about Wii (launch details, full list of features, etc) will be released by September.
- Classic games for the Virtual Console will be downloadable for a small fee. This price is as yet unconfirmed, but most speculate that the N64 games will be priciest at US$10.

I got a pretty awesome pre-order deal from Toys R Us for GameCube, so I'll definitely be looking at their bundle packages once full details are released. But I'll be one of the loons lining up for a midnight sale, for sure.

None taken, but you do realise that all of the points you have posted are not facts. They are only estimations or approximates. You yourself say that official confirmation of details and that will be released in September. Smile

Well, they may not have been officially confirmed yet, but everything I said comes directly from Satoru Iwata himself (President of Nintendo, for those not in the know). I'd say he'd be a pretty reliable source.

Of course I'm getting a Wii. Not only does it look good with a sleek exterior, but it has the inside stuff too (and I am a superduper Nintendo fan ^__^)

I pretty much have to buy a PS3 cause FFXIII(s) are on that. So Wii is going to have to wait. The time of the purchasing of said Wii is pending on the actualy release date of FFXIII and the amount of 3rd party games that I want on Wii.

Definitely... honestly i'm not willing to pay the price when it comes out at first but when it comes down, I'm definitely getting my hands on one! The new smash brothers just looks too good to let down!

i just find it hard to imagine someone playing super smash bros. using 'that' sort of controller. i still might use the older gc controller and hook it up to the Wii

With the Wiimote plus nunchaku extension needed to play most good games (brawl included) standing at a minimum $110 AUD I don't think many people will be playing Wii with 3 friends. Unless of course they are fellow Wii owners and bring their controllers over. But that's not going to happen with my circle of friends.

Wow that is alot of money to spend on peripherals, hopefully it's worth it though.

And Hamu, I saw that the prices were fairly decent for the Wii compared to the other next gen consoles but it still is alot for some of us haha. I really looking forward to it, if you can save friends and stuff on the wii or create groups there should totally be an Eminence based one, that would be cool *.*

1) It needs to be in the correct format
2) Must not be contain ANY forms of advertisement
3) Not distracting to the point that it becomes of an annoyance
