I'm a little worried actaully.
I seem to be one of the few who love the turn-based battle systems. I am slightly disgruntled about the change. But hey, I loved Tales of Symphonia so it might be okay in the end. |

I downloaded the demo sometime last year. Very promising game! I love how the battle system seems to be an improved, more user friendly mish-mash of FFXI and FFX-2. Well, to me anyway. You're all entitled to your own opinions. |

I read that famitsu (spelling??) magazine gave it a perfect score. They've only given 6 other games a perfect score in their history... So, sounds promising |

Western gaming magazines are known to give out good scores if they're paid to. I don't know about Famitsu's level of integrity, but a perfect score was a perfect tool to disperse the cloud of uncertainty and annxiety for failure surrounding that game. Convenient no?
The gambit system makes me wonder how much of a game this game is? I played the demo and the only thing I seemed to have done through two playthroughs is guide a character around opening chests and telling it to attack a monster which then the AI took over and attacked and healed for me.
Well, still anticipating it in hopes of a good story. Should I wait for the Australian release or import the US version? The only reason I'm reluctant in importing is the difference in covers. I like my white album approach and logo thank you very much. |

I'm not gonna miss getting this game! Been holding out too long...
As for the perfect score... it's almost like Famitsu were waiting to give FFXII such a score. After all, they seem to give full marks to one game for each console... |

| That collector's tin looks pretty. But as far as content wise goes it's just another "beyond Final Fantasy" DVD that was packaged with the PAL versions of FFX. A very nice extra but not a must have. I wonder if the collector's edition will be avaliable here? As far as I know, ebgames.com does not ship outside the US. |

I am just wondering how come their character designs always look similar to characters in the past.
Examples:
Pannelo - Selphie
Rinoa - Garnet
Tidus - Vaan
etc, etc. |

They are lazy bastards. That is all there is to it really.
Apart from that FF XII is quite good at 50hours into the game so far and no sight of the end. A very refreshing take of of the franchise and leagues better than 8,9,10,10-2. And before you say it, XII is so good because it borrows the online battle mechanics of XI to make battles all that much better and integrated into your world travelling.
But yes, the characters look way too much like previous ones, and that is not necessarily a good thing. Lazy bastards. |

| ff12 is good but the story isnt as good as the past ff series. FF12's story seems to be rather weak and short. >.< |

Personally, I was disappointed. Sad, but I wasn't too surprised. Square is definitely lacking- downhill since FF9. But I hope it's just me and those looking forward to FF12 enjoy it. At least the opening sequences were interesting...
Try Spectral Souls; PSP. A definite rarity- how difficult is it to come across old-school strategy RPGs nowadays, complete with 2d sprites and grid combat? Lol- it's good AND it's hard. |

| I heard that Nobuo Uematsu is not even composing the music anymore,..you KNOW Square has to be going down hill if that is the case. At least the Composer of FF Tactics is working for them .. |

What is wrong with the replacements, Hitoshi Sakimoto, Masashi Hamauzu, so far? I don't know about you, but I've come to enjoy the music to FFXII a lot more than anything Uematsu has done in the past 8 years. And I'm sure Hamauzu's score to FFXIII will be just as vibrant and epic.
Also, Sakimoto doesn't work for SE, as he is a freelance. |

| Oh, come on now. I admit VIII didn't have that great of a soundtrack but IX had a pretty good OST. I mean, I wasn't necessarily talking about anything that Nobuo has done recently but 1-7 are classics. I simply meant that if he quit Square-Enix to start his own music studio the days that we can remember must be coming to an end. Sort of like when Tim Burton severed ties with Danny Elfman for the score of Ed Wood ( of course they reunited in the end). I'm not saying it is a bad thing, just an ominous sign like that of all the character designs resembling one another nowadays. How many Final Fantasy's can there be before the franchise gives in to writers block? |

| True. The novelty of FF has been wearing thin for a while now. Time to move onto bigger and better things. Or in my case? Stepping back and re-living classic Street Fighter. Lol. At least it's fast. |

let's move to Mistwalker (Sakaguchi's new company). Mistwalker is more like a new "Squaresoft" company. ^^ Guess what, Nobuo Uematsu is the composer of Mistwalker's Two Titles, "Blue Dragon" & "Lost Odyssey". ^^ Lots of Squaresoft's experienced workers have moved to Mistwalker. >.<
Btw, Blue Dragon's Soundtrack rox man. ^^ |

Mistwalker? Never heard of it .. interesting. I will have to look more into that. Thanks!
I don't know, maybe I am just oldshcool, but I am a huge fan of Nobuo. He is what got me into making music in the first place. He is sort of an idol to me whereas other people consider popular and mainstream bands to be their sources of inspiration. |

this game is not perfect but it's damn good...i wish there were more back story on the main villain and also some of the playable characters, but whatever...the ending was nice
the best thing about this game, imo, is exploring the huge world and doing the hunts/optional stuff...the new battle system really makes the combat a lot of fun, and i just love the Licence board (it's like the Sphere Grid but less annoying, you don't need locks or points to go around the place)
....i need to level up now so i can fight that Yiazmat thing (the one with 50 million HP =_=)
i'm very happy with this game, as to be expected from Yasumi Matsuno (creator of FF Tactics & Vagrant Story)...haven't loved a main FF game so much since IX (guess it's not saying much though)....too bad FFXIII looks like it's going back to the same crud-ness of FFX & the FFVII spinoffs
the people who are waiting for the local version are in for something good (although some people might find it too hard, perhaps) |
