There are many great songs from animes and games that eminence could peform with a singer that the crowd would really love,
Im horible at explaining my point but Im sure you all know what I mean if eminence has an amazing singer(s) they should really come up and peform for a few songs... well at least I think so...
I personally would like to hear eyes on me live, simple and clean, hikari, sanctuary and kiss me goodbye... a few other songs from a few animes but I dont want to ramble on...
Who reckons this is a good idea? |

Are you suggesting A Night in Fantasia: Symphonic Anime/Game Karaoke Edition where members may get up, request a song of their choice and sing live?
'Cos that would be amusing :p |

well i guess we'll have to see if eminence' conncetions extends thaat far.
Its not like they're going to get a random member of the orchestra to sing. haha. Ayako! or someone else.. And yeh, japanese pop singer.. in sydney.. random..?
Its a good thought though. i'm sure it'd be backed by soo many other people.
Yumi Kimura last year was good ^^ |

Hmm ... I don't know. In terms of the Eminence sound I'm a right-winger
Eminence are good at what they do, and even better for being the only ones who do it. But, whichever way you look at most things, there are issues associated with trying to do too much, over-specialise, or be everything.
That's not just about vocals specifically, but also in terms of other ideas for altering Eminence's repertoire - though it seems somehow a different sort of change from an orchestra to an ensemble to a solo pianist. And that's not knocking the idea of vocals either - 'cause I know if Eminence presented a concert with vocals it would be marvellous as with any other Eminence concert (and I can definitely think of some smashing vocal songs that would be wonderful to hear!). And the 'market' for it would flow logically on too, I suppose. (is there anyone that does do anime / game vocals?...)
That said, it's still a 'hmm'. I don't know. Perhaps I'm just too conservative. I guess it comes back to the kind of ... atmosphere? that we want to think of as Eminence.
Hmm. Hope that made sense. It just popped into my head just then.
Edit - post-script. What about the Eminence-esque fashion of replacing vocals with a (solo) instrumental line? |

Yep, that's something that has been done. A good example is on our Passion CD, which has a track from Mitsuda's Kirite CD called 'Is Kirite Burning Up?'. The vocals from the original have been replaced with solo violin |

My idea is to express the vocals =]

| It'd be awesome if they could get someone to sing things like Canta per Me, Find the Way and Voices (the list goes on and on and on...), but finding a soloist who's good enough would be both problematic and expensive I'd imagine... I'm happy with the orchestra and choir. |

Yay~! First post.
Vocally, he or she should be able to be in synch with the orchestra and the timing as well. From what I heard of their very first concert years ago (2003 it was born), the singer who did "Eyes on me" left me disappointed. I'm sure Hiro knows what I mean. Another is that the singers have to dedicate alot of time to practice before the concert to ensure nothing goes out of place. Also, the important part of all and that's training your voice. Otherwise, if the voice goes croak, it'll make a bad impression for both the concert organisers and the reputation of the singer.
But, it wouldn't hurt if we can get a few vocals in to do some unforgettable tunes. :3
Just a food for thought. |

Hey Rinoa!
Welcome to the Eminence forums!
Having a guest singer to perform a few songs is a great idea, and one we did last year for ANIF06 when we had Youmi Kimura.
The advantage with Kimura-san was that she could also play the lyre, which was used in other songs too.
It's a catch-22 with having singers....
If you're bringing in the actual singers, you either have to base the concert around their music, or the kinds of anime they are associated with to keep the same theme/tone.
Or, you might have to have an entire concert just for them ala Spirited Away with Youmi.
If you're getting trained musicians to do covers of the songs, you'd be able to cover a wide variety of songs, but the authenticity and delivery of the songs may be sacrificed somewhat ala Sakura Snow.
I'm sure Eminence will be able to figure something out |

Yeah...
Eminence should perform music with vocals much more...
And the vocalist(s) should be the real singer(s) who sang the songs.
I think we can invite in some cases, otherwise, invite some good singer
Or would you like to sing, Rinoa ?
There are lots of nice songs in Anime and Games.
Please invite some Japanese famous singers to next anif !=D
Such as Mikuni Shimokawa. Does anyone know her ? |

What you're offering? If Hiro wants to volunteer one of his choir personnel to sing in front of a large scale, there's a chance that person would be a hit or miss, depending on the song assigned to them.
Steve has heard my singing voice after a few karaoke sessions ago. But mine's not up to scratch as it is at the moment. |

only performances with vocals someday separately from anif.

I did have the pleasure of seeing her do both at the PLAY! opening in Chicago last year... Sadly, that was what introduced me to both songs *and* Aki, so it was like "oh, this is pretty" while sitting there, but now it's like "aaaaaaaahhhhhhh!! so good!!" and it's not live anymore.
But yeah, she's really good. |

Anyway, Yura-san will think about it !
Whoever the singer is, it's good ! XD
But I still like non-vocal ones originally as well. |
