hahaha well i loved One Winged Angel...it was alot better than last years one. The volume of each instrument was perfect, nothing was outta balance. brilliant job and well done!!

although i was really anticipating for MGS2...i hate to say it but TaikOz drummers just droned out the violins so didnt hear the actual tune of the song..blah! but never the less..it was still cool

what about everyone else?
favorite piece - why
least favorite - why

Most favourite: 'Hikari' Kingdom Hearts
This is the song that first got me into Utada Hikaru (she sings in both the Japanese and English versions) so i was really happy to hear this piece Smile

I was disappointed with The Metal Gear Solid theme songas well, because the drums were so loud that the main theme couldn't really be heard... *sigh* it's such a pretty song too... Sad

I can't really pin point one favourite but a couple.

Hikari (i can't believe i never thought of getting an orchestra versoin of the song before, its so crazy. Excellent opener!!!
Both Mario themes were fun
Legend of Zelda Main theme
Believe - Tsubasa Chronicle (I love Yuki Kajiuras compositions)
The Unsung War - Ace Combat (I never even heard of this game!)
Moon over the Castle - Grand Turismo4 (never a huge fan of the game or cars, but the sopranoist was excellent. MY FRIEND LIKES OPERA AND CHOIR NOW AHAHAHA)
WOW Suite - (just madness!)
One Winged Angel (haha, pretty much everyones favourite)

Well thats around a quarter of the songs actually played on the night.

Will convert all people to orchestral music!

Hehe my favourite would have to be One Winged Angel, although there were so many great pieces. I'd waited a long time to hear it performed live, right before my eyes... and I'm so glad and grateful I was able to, because it was mind-blowingly terrific!! Definately deserved the second playing Wink

Hikari, Rising Star 1st Movement, The Unsung War... argh at this rate I'm going to name them all. They were all absolutely sensational!

i agree chocohi, alot of the pieces were indeed very good.
hikari was brilliant
i have to say my second favorite was either Zelda which was just.....OMG GG!
or Howls Moving Castle - Life's Merry-Go-Round.[for those who dont remember that piece just go to the offical howls moving castle site in eng and view the main trailer..the song should also play as the BG music of the site]
hahaha that was beautiful
my third was definitely the Ace Combat song. i heard of it because its an old school game on PS but never knew of the ps2 version...never the less..the music for that was just superb!

haha i did violin a LONG time ago...quit because i was a lil b!t*hy kid and thought it was a sissy thing to do..u know when ur like 8 or 9 u have that attitude...blah! one of the biggest mistakes ive made in my life

well i soon came to appreciate the fine art of classical music, and appreciated and grasped it even more when it came to music from anime and games [downloading off net].
i found out i loved the violin early last year i believe and when i heard anif04....i knew i had to start again
which i am after my hsc
and im gonna ask a certain someone to tutor me!!!! Very Happy

Even though I'd never heard most of the music before (esp the gaming music), I thought that they all sounded good! Whoever chose the pieces did a very good job.

I was especially and very pleasantly surprised when Hiro announced they were going to perform Dance of Curse!!!! I never thought I'd hear any of Escaflowne's choral pieces live, how good was that! Special mention for The Unsung War and One Winged Angel.

And Moon Over the Castle was way too short for my liking, it sounded really impressive, I wanted more. Sad I think next concert should utilise the choir and a solo singer more. Ooooh, the possibilities.

And as for the next one, I think I can safely say that I have 3 confirmed so far, so bring it on. I was a bit apprehensive about all the 'unknown' music, but I don't have to worry any more. Very Happy

in short:

Most fav: One winged Angel + marios!!

Least: no offence but MGS2 was just..... uuhhh let's say the taikos got the timing a bit off or something and it's too loud, with the naruto the japanese instrument is too loud, i couldn't hear the violins during those 2 songs

[off topic]
hhhmmm stang and bb-haha said that they are motivated to learn some musical instrument again, hhhmm what if eminence provide some tickets to school principals (or is it principles?) and kids, motivate the kids to learn musical instruments, then offer tuition for them.

people in the orchestra are professionals, if you read a few of their backgrounds
and rates of tutoring would be close to the 100s or more

but dont let me get wrong that every musician would follow that rate, its just one of the figures ive heard thats been the highest

some serious students (esp from private schools Razz ) might want that, plus is it a common thing to share a tutor, say between 5 students or more? well.... they do that in sports why not in music?

ace combat eh? never played it, no PS2 Sad anyone willing to donate PS2? :p nahh just kidding

Sigh. Get the OST, it's great, you can even import it more easily than most like I did. It's in Europe and the United States, go! Hikari is actually on there, and features in trailers of Kingdom Hearts.

I actually bought mine through a Leading Edge store back in Ballarat (place in Victoria for you NSW people) who went through Aztec Music. They apparently import music.

Favourite Piece? Sadness and Sorrow, the inclusion of the instruments beyond the stock-standard made it brilliant. One-Winged Angel of course, The Oath and

Didn't Like: MGS 2 Theme & Tsubasa, both were trashed by the drums. Tsubasa was worse for me since I am far too obsessed with Kajiura's score for the show.

Yes i noticed in the booklet i got at EXG that they would play the theam to MGS2. I was so excited about it, but when they started playing it, i was going, "*gug*.....what the heck" my ears started hurting because of the drumming, but the end was very good.

The rest was very good.

Yeha, i was sitting in the 8th row, up the front, the drumming was crushing my ears, but when it stoped at the end the piece was so good.

oh it's so much better than sitting really close on the front right corner of the seats (lower section), we're the drums were really really loud that the violins are just silent.... Crying or Very sad and talk about the speaker right in front of you around 3 metres away? argghhhh now that's what i call loud Shocked

btw with the dance of curse, it was really cool, but i have no idea which anime is it..... Confused

yeah, i don't have a credit card so i'll have to go to some sort of music store to ask them to import it for me. Would you think Bavas or Anthony's Music in Liverpool do that?anyone? (not directing question towards nephtis, since your not in NSW)
