*just woke up, check eminence*
Hhmmmm what a lazy monday.... i'm too lazy to study for my exams.... anyway.... this question is more towards what you wanna use when you are playing music, not about MP3 players.

for example, i wish if there is a device probably like
*a micorphone, you stick it in your piano
*maybe by wireless connection, connect to your computer
*the computer can record all musicals notes, time intervals, basically the whole music into it's memory
*then a program analyses the data and creates the music sheet of what you just played

i dunno if there is any kind of this program out there, but it would be pretty cool i think, if you just created a really nice song, but you dunno how to write the notes, just use this device and all will be done quickly. just my idea

*yawns and going back to sleep zzzzz*

this sounds a lot like a MIDI player, or some MIDI composer

my music teacher had that, except it didnt have a microphone, since the piano was an electric type anyway (probably a keyboard)

Anyway there was this box that sat ontop of it, being pluged into the computer, im guessing thats some sort of a synthesizer

a midi composer maps out the notes onto a sheet

if you're recording via actual audio, that'll eat up quite a bit of resources

Here's something i quickly found

Isnt that what a midi keyboard + sound cards like the ones from E-MU or M-Audio are for?
I dont know.. but a midi keyboard sounds like it could do something like that?
Along with some software like Finale?

yeah something like the ones you guys have said... the thing is, i reckon it would be really cool if the music can be recorded, probably just as a wav file, which should be no problem at all, but the biggest hurdle i guess is to come up with the correct algorithm, hence software to be able to analyse the captured audio signal and convert them into musical notes, btw kouri... is this possible? or there's a software for this already?

btw i know midi can be transformed into music notes but even that i find sometimes to be inaccurate....
