Sorry, I didn't make that clear....

Casey-san refered me a resident stalker when introducing me to one of her friends that I assume to be a melbournian....

Well I never talked to Casey; like I said; I was the one who kept on snooping about.

Highest commendations to Hiro, Yuki and the Eminence team for the brilliant performance on Sunday.

It was hot and yucky, but we got through it.

My favourite for the afternoon was Sakura. You truly outperformed yourselves from Passion, utilising the full capacity of the all the instruments and produced a beautiful arrangement of the already lovely peice. It really took my breath away guys.

Some constructive criticism though... Mr. MC, dude get your script sorted. It felt like you didn't know what was going on at the matinee performance (but you were funny though).

Oh and Hiro's mic was strangely not working very well.

Personally I liked the acoustics of the hall at the Conservatorium alot better, but on the other hand UNSW was much easier for parking! haha.

Thanks again for a wonderful performance guys.

PS - Man, Yuki Kajiura's english is impressive... dang!

That's funny coming from you XD

I think Jono was referring to Von. Presumably for his comment about whose signatures he obtained (or didn't).

Anyway, just to drag this thread somewhat back on topic, regarding photos from the evening session of the concert (I was the one walking around with the big black camera gear), I will post them up somewhere soon (man, everytime I use that word I keep thinking of Soon.....for those of you who know who that is, it's probably not a good thing LOL!)

Not sure when and where Ken (the official photographer during the day session) will be posting his pics...

Anyway, here's a quick sample:

Yuki Kajiura, of course!

Just want to say that I had a great time at ANIF07, and meeting Kajiura-san was an amazing experience. The "orchestra" was smaller than I expected, but in a way that made it more cosy and personal, which I really liked. ^^ I'm suitably impressed by how strong sounding the performance was, although I agree that the screens could have been used more effectively (like to show clips from the anime or something). The Q&A with Kajiura-san was a great idea, but maybe she should have been provided with a interpreter? (Not that Hiro didn't do a good job, lol... ^^). Autograph session = win.

Overall, it was definitely one of the finest experiences of my life, and the Eminence crew have some real talent. I'm really glad I flew over to see it, and hope I get the chance to again. ^^

We are sorry to have disappointed you, but this concert was never advertised as a full orchestral gig. All the artists, however, were members of the Eminence Symphony Orchestra.
Also, this particular venue would have been too small for a full orchestra, but please continue to support Eminence by coming to the next full orchestral concert.

Oh, no need to apologize, I didn't mean to come across as if I was disappointed. I wasn't disappointed at all! I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. ^^ I was just saying I had a preconception in my mind that it would be an orchestra, but that was based purely on the pictures/videos I've seen on YouTube, and not because you false-advertised or anything. ^^

I would definitely love to come see another Eminence concert with the orchestra + choir, but since I live in Perth, I'm not sure when that may be. ^^;; But you guys have all my support, and if you'd ever consider coming all the way to little 'ol Perth, let me know.

I just want to add that Eminence is still -way- ahead of the game. I wasn't sure how many people were as moved by Xenosaga II Opening Theme as I was (I mean, the game was a commercial flop, and the loss of Mitsuda sealed the deal for lots of fans), but seriously, hats off to you guys for playing it anyway.

To me, this concert was like Passion 2.0. I think it's a little unfair to expect full choir+orchestra each time now that the events have been split up, but...there are so many anime tunes that have yet to be graced by the full prowess of Eminence as a symphony.

What was with the signing?! There was no one there. I felt bad for Kajiura-san, but like the previous poster, only handed over my goods to be signed, mumbled a thanks and wandered off. (yay Xeno II and III Jap signed!)

I love how the musicians can go from joking and congenial to 120% professional in virtually a blink of an eye. To me, that's sort of what Eminence is all about.

Thanks for yet another great performance.
