haha wow, looking quite happy there
actually the first time i saw hiro. or technically 2nd at anif2003.. when he came out as concert master. I was like "WOAH William Motzing is ... huh. asian? and .. wha? so young.?"
Pretty embarrassing. That was my first orchestra concert and i was a total newb and i had no idea what a concert master was haha...
but yeh, i became a hiro fan! except i forgot his name. :p
he was "the violin dude"
Oh and its also interesting, because my impression of musicians have always been - They dont watch anime or play games, they play their instruements, they are.. different from us.
But alas, Hiro plays games. And quite a bit.
and he's apparently good at CS? |

I heard Hiro's a big fan of the opening theme song to Katamari Damacy. Come on! Petition for Katamari on the Rock theme song to go into ANIF06! Who's with me?

sounds like its for a much younger audience, judging by the description _________________

Hey guys, been a bit busy with a lot of work for next year.
I see there's a new thread and loads of Qs so I'll answer them as best as I can. And oh, btw, I hate been idolised too. I am a violinist and musician, but what's more important is that I am a person too!
| Quote: |
| btw seraph, is your father also a musician?
|
No, my dad plays a bit of guitar but he's very unmusical. Background in Chemical Engineering, he owns and operates his own company creating agents to solidify acids. He don't like music that much... My father's side of family comes from a long history in Chemical Engineering and he probably wants me to take over his company... but that's probably not going to happen as I have my own goals in life. Who knows? You know you know, you never never know!
| Quote: |
i think he was weraing jeans as well at EGX.....
does that make him uber cool..?
|
I don't think I was wearing jeans... rather a dark green cargo pants for EGX. I think... did I? What I know is that I don't own (blue) jeans at all. So it probably doesn't make me uber cool.
| Quote: |
| COLONEL MUSTANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol, how cool would that be?
|
THAT would be damn kool but I'm no way handsome as he is. And I haven't worked out in ages. The only thing which is similar is that I can click my fingers pretty well. Except I don't have flame and stuff errupting afterwards like the good old Colonel.
| Quote: |
| do you play anything else besides the violin?
|
I can play very BASIC piano and attempt to play Viola (since it's only a little bigger version of the violin) but no, I can't really play other instruments seriously.
| Quote: |
| but 50 bucks for like a 40 minute less is quite good. compared to most places. (for the teacher that is)
|
Yes I teach. I don't charge that much compared to a lot of my fellow teachers though. I charge $50/hour or $30/half hour.

| wondering what other games hiroaki plays~~~~ Question Question
|
I am playing...
1) World of Warcraft - PC
2) Nintendo War Dual Strike - Nintendo DS
3) F.E.A.R
4) Nintendog
5) Half Life 2 (I still get motion sickness...)
The others, I'm an all time fan of
1) Bomberman (most version)
2) Mario Kart
3) Final Fantasy (last few has been disappointing... music's gone down since Nobby left... heard 12 will be good though) _________________

btw seraph are you the only child? just curiosity.... yeah go for your own goals in life, but becoming a chemical engineer and musician at the same time sounds cool really _________________ I dunno better things to write for my signature so here it goes! |

lol, he takes over the company =P
i dont think you'd need an engineering degree to manage a company, only if you're working at the lower level in a company, then yes =/
otherwise its another 4-5 years for you Hiroaki in uni
Is being a musicianist pretty much full time?
I'm not sure if juggling being a musician as you are today, and studying/working full-time as a engineering; if you chose to be one, would it have made any impact on your time? _________________

Playing music is very serious stuff...
You need to practice every day. Every day you miss practicing, you lose 10 days of the time you have practiced. You need to have very understanding family and friends (and even neighbours!)
Not many people have the "best" environment to study. I know I don't.
We must make do with what we've been given though.
I can't manage a company because I don't have the will/desire to, nor reason. If you have no will, there is no way. I prefer my father pass it onto someone who is interested in the company than me. Of course, if I take over, I won't have to worry over money for the rest of my life. However, I believe life is not about money and no matter how stressing and tiring life can be without money, I prefer to be an artist I want to be. _________________

wow, more the reason to look up to you.
i like people like you. makes me want to practice piano more. you really loose 10 days worth of practice by missing one day? maybe its a violin thing?
I play everyday but usually not what im supposed to be practicing. eg scales and technical work.
im lucky enough to never have a complaint from any neighbours despite how loud i probably play the piano. only time i get a complaint is from my brother when he is studying for his uni exams.
or when its past 11pm from any family member.

lol, well, it goes for any discipline really, if there was this cliche that said,
| Quote: |
| if you didnt reuse your skills, it'll rust with time.
|
And thats true if you think about when you come out of studying, your work will make the better person out of you. By that I mean lots of experience.

Very well said there, though there's heaps of people struggling out there who care easily see the light. And I think i'm one of those people. I'm walking through the forest with little sense of direction. But its good being revitalised and interact with someone who has achieved something, even though its a completely different discipline to you and I

Don't go too off-topic here.
1) FF music for X was actually quite good in parts, and I am well aware which tracks Uematsu did not compose. And let's face it, since he really left, we've had FFXI which was online, and he still made a small contribution to that.
2) FFXII - Hitoshi Sakimoto. You're looking at FF Tactics Advance & Vagrant Story.
3) I will kill you all. (Not really) FFXII will be on PS2. Due out March 16 in Japan, why do people assume that when it hits the west it will magically change consoles? (Sorry, just a thing I get annoyed about, happens with Dragon Quest VIII too) _________________
