actually, anything digital or in fact all "not the real thing" will never beat the real thing unfortunately that includes TV, photography, music , everything
of course for ears at our level we won't notice the difference, but for eminence musicans... aha they can detect the difference really really easily.
probably the only time you wanna go digital if you are in a concert?
btw, we are getting side tracked..... sorry
btw seraph, are you still in uni studyin music, or eminence is pretty much your full time work already? _________________ I dunno better things to write for my signature so here it goes! |

I've got a "A.E.Smith" violin. It's Australian and it's the only decent maker in Australia~! Don't have money for the best... otherwise Eminence will be... pretty rich.

A.E.Smith? Isnt that from that really fmaous violin maker, Arthur Edward Smith who died long ago?
I thought his daughter also retired from the job and the company ceased trading in 1972, unless i'm wrong?
How'd you find such a violin hiroaki? i heard it's hard to find! >< |

the founder has died, and his daughter did keep the business going, but only for a little bit then production ceased.
im not even sure if theyre produced anymore - probably googling it would give you all the answers. |

Arthur E Smith, one of the best violin-makers of the twentieth century, was born in England in 1880. His fascination with violin-making began because he was dissatisfied with the cheap violin he owned, so he attempted to make one of his own.
Smith completed his apprenticeship in England but soon realised there weren't many opportunities for him to establish his own business. In 1909, he sailed for Australia and set up a small business repairing and restoring instruments, first in Melbourne and later in Sydney. It was at his workshop in Hunter Street, Sydney, that Smith developed a reputation for fine workmanship. He experimented with Australian timber and also produced his own varnish, which remains a family secret.
AE Smith was an instrument maker with an international reputation. During his lifetime, he made about 210 instruments. He has been revered by world famous violinists such as Isaac Stern and Yehudi Menuhin, and his violins have found homes all around the world.
Prior to his death in 1978, Smith's string quartet made between 1946 and 1954, consisting of a viola, cello and two violins, was acquired for the National Historical Collection.

Hiro hasnt said much about it.
If you read the extract i pasted, it wouldve given you a few ideas of how famous musicians recognise the maker. _________________

Good violins?
If it sounds good, it's good.
But thats to me.
The meaning of good differs from people to people, what kinda good we're talking about? _________________

Like i suppose, when playing really long notes, you don't horrible scratchy sounds, but i suppose that's the strings??
cuz i supoose the frame wouldn't make much difference would it? perhaps just weight etc? _________________ Concinnity

its probably cos he moves around the most, it almost looks like he's dancing around =P
hehe =]
then again, to move around a lot while playing any instrument is quite difficult XD
i'll like to see all 3 performers play while moving around lots

Hahahaha that'd be funny. You'd need someone like Ben Folds on piano. Man that guy even uses a chair to hit the keys sometimes
I think that'd be an awesome trio seeing as they are all so passionate.. dunno what kinda music they'd play though. |

u hafta get like 4 ppl moving the piano around while he dances around playing it XD
but yeh watching hiro play u can see him actually play the music....how he moves, his face....it looks like he actually GETS the music.
im not so much into "classical" type music, or the instruments generally associated with it....but watching piano stories....was really great |

woohoo! PSIII on saturday... can't wait!!
hehe my sis and i jokingly refer to the movement of violinists as 'spazzing', and in my books... if violinists 'spaz' they've definately got good ratings with me! i love it when they do that cuz it shows just how immersed in the music! =) |
