Piano! Love it. Absolutely.
Started when I was um... young. Had a teacher, don't have one anymore. But nonetheless I do play a lot still. Smile

Currently going crazy over random anime pieces. Very Happy
Particularly Life's merry go round.

Desperate to learn violin too. Smile

----
As I was adding options to the poll, I've realised there are too many instruments. So ..... yeh. haha. So forgive me if i left out anything Razz

i changed between instruments, it was flute, then violin, hardly kept up with the instruments, parents focused more on studying in other things

flute drained a lot of my breath, so it was easy to move to the violin, although it tickled my fingers quite a bit playing it XD

I play piano and trumpet. These days, I don't play trumpet quite so often though. (Last year's HSC music performance exam took away the edge for trumpet from me, I think.)

I play the piano and I can dabble on the drum kit.

Been playing piano for about 7 years, 6 of those with lessons.
Got up to 8th grade, which I failed. Havent taken lessons since then, due to HSC.. and now trying to find a teacher.

I can play FF-X2 1000 words <- love this piece, played it for yr12 concert.
Also can play a few songs from FFIV. Very Happy

i never actually played infront of the school before lol. class yes, but never like the whole grade or any rather large crowd. The majority of my school doesn't like this type of music though lol. (as in instrumentals) most like rap/rnb etc etc.

Yea, its a shame when someone gets up infront of the school and performs an instrumental. Most of the kids talk to each other. I knew that would happen, but there are some kids in the crowd that thoroughly enjoy it.

After my performance, one of the teachers had to lecture the the audience, which was cool, but I went to the back of the stage and was depressed for a bit because I stuffed a little bit up during my playing.

To those of you who are still at school, I encourage you to play in front of your peers

main instrument is piano although i only can play probably till grade 2 music? yeah not that good (yet), but i'm trying to practice 1 hour per day to improve... i tried guitar, why do they say it's easy to play, i can't get my fingers (left hand) to be at the right chord prob because my fingers are too fat Evil or Very Mad

i'd love to have a try at either flute or clarinet though

[OT]
hhhmm if you like to play dare, there's a baby grand piano in one of our uni's building in a restaurant, every so often when i have my lunch there, somebody will play the piano hhmm for some reason richard clayderman's marriage d'amour is the most often one played, anybody know why? is it because it's the easiest?

Schools sometimes have bands that play during special assemblies, such as award ceremonies, or whenever a special distinguished guest comes to school

yeah we have that, but its usually a rock band or something. rarely ever instrumental.

when there is an instrumental, people start looking at each other thinking, and ask "wheres the singer?" then after the performance it will be "What kind of performance was that? (the curse curse explicit explicit) waste of time."

that seriously gets on my nerves at times.

the only time when they know it is an instrumental, is when a pianist plays with no microphone on stage.
