Months of waiting has just ended for Japanese Final Fantasy fans! The sequel to the recent PS2 swan song is here!
Yes that's right folks, Japan was just treated to Final Fantasy 12: Revenant Wings on their DSs, and the game has been received well by critics and fans alike!
Developing upon the rich history of Final Fantasy 12, Revenant Wings takes place about a year after the original title, expanding on characters (and relationships) of the original, as well as delving into a new plotline focusing around new characters and species.
Still no word on an English release for the game, but expect it announced very soon!
Coincidentally, word has gone around that a new sequel is already in the works, a complete sequel if you will. The secret ending of Revenant Wings will give fans a good idea of events that will take place in the next Final Fantasy 12 sequel, which will be much more major than Revenant Wings.
During this same announcement, Square also revealed that a Star Ocean IV was in the works!
Who is looking foward to this... Ive been waiting for quite some time...
Aparently were going to get a further sequal to FF12, perhaps a big one... think of Kingdom Hearts its transition from I to II and CoM in between bridging the gap,
Surely square isnt doing the same thing as that but I feel a big realease coming later on. Then again theres no credible source if this is for real or not since its just "the word going around"
This expands onto the ever growing Ivalice Alliance which is currently at.

My best theory of revenent wings and the next chapter would be that revenent wings is the gap of time that develops into FFXII:3? that should be the events where the gods take revenge on the humans completly destroying the world (well almost) notice how in the later series there are ruins of airships and mention of an event which made it so technology no longer existed... perhaps all magicite is destroyed...
Revenent wings just being a small part of the story as a gap... Revenent wings is about finding some continent I believe... a holy grail the sky pirates a dream... thus this place would mark a gap between the two events (ffxii being the release from the gods power and ffxii:3? being there revenge)
Then again square enix does tend to suprise us and make us wrong nobody can really predict what there up too =] |

| i'm probably gonna end up getting this when it's released in English, but i really hope Square Enix would stop with all these damn FF spinoffs/sequels/remakes...how bout spending time & money on making original titles?? (i have nothing against the FF Tactics port on PSP though, since it was such a great game) |

Theres a upcoming sequal to tactics advanced called tactics A2 coming soon...
FF12 was part of a compilation before it was even released... this is by far the only worthy compilation, thus this sequal has more purpose then the shitty FFX2...
We all know whats going to happen in the 3rd chapter... so lets have the plot set out =] |

| i actually didn't care for FFTA that much due to the annoying kids, god i hate the characters in that game so much....nonetheless, i'll probably be picking up FFTA2 as well since i love the gameplay |

So yeah, Revenant wings plays kinda fun, though I can"t understand whats happening or some more delicate controls.
As far as I"ve worked out, its like I"m playing DOTA... |

You should pick up FFT (PSP) if you understand Japanese, or if it goes to America. Best Final Fantasy ever. Seriously. |

i already knew that (see my previous post) ^_^ but thanks for the reminder
and yes, FF Tactics is one of the best games i've ever played, it's a shame they never released it in PAL territories...let's hope the PSP version will make its way here!!
the ending -> WOW!! i was speechless after that scene (after the credits)...i mean how do u react to that scene???

the PSP version has Balthier in it so i definitely wanna see how they relate him to the story |

It's a revamped port.
Two new classes, cut-scenes, voice acting, new special character (apparently the hero of FFTA2).
Lets hope they don't nerf T.G. Cid. |

i'm thinking they should give a warning before you save in places where you can't get out (like in FFXII)...i always knew to make more than one save but some ppl might get screwed
also, it might be too hard for some people, like the ones who's played FFTA and thinks FFT's gonna be a cakewalk..good luck at Golgorand Execution Site... |

Golgorand Execution Site was easy. Battle on the Rooftop with a certain suicidal npc was damn annoying.
But I also agree, they should really tell you when you're going to save yourself in a place you can't leave. |

ahh yeah the rooftop battle...you really needed lady luck on your side for that one...and i always thought it was funny when _____ threw ______ off the roof and it had the screaming sound effect...i'm pretty sure i had to watch that scene 5-6 times give or take @_@ (wonder if you can skip scenes on the PSP version)
still, those damn Time Mages at the Execution Site gave me trouble for days... |

Tactics beter come on PSP here I've always wanted to play it...
Balthier being in it is something I find interesting, perhaps the world changing event follows up only a short while after...
Hopefully the extra characters arnt there for fun =/

No its for the nintendo ds and as far as I know the battle system is an entirely new concept.
I think the next chapter would be a PS3 title... |
