I was wondering if people could post up their comments on what they thought of the new Jounrey on a Piano CD.
Thank you! _________________

Nice!
Would be great if the source of the songs were on the track listing on the back though. e.g. Isn't it Beautiful (FFX)
I was really silly though and expected Hiro and Ayako to feature as well, I was disappointed.
Have listened to it 6 or 7 times since Saturday, I think that says a lot ... |

I'm glad that there were many Uematsu pieces on it... To me, it seemed to make up for the lack of Uematsu on the ANIF'04 CD.
I think most of what's on the CD were the better pieces on the night, especially "Those 'the' Fight"( ) and "Two Hearts Not Captured".
Woulda been better were the violins present, but hey, it is called "Journey on a Piano". _________________ "Your hope ends here... And your meaningless existence with it!!" -- Seymour, FFX |

Great choice of pieces. I'm glad all the cool ones are on it! [You could've fitted an extra song or two on couldn't you =P ]
OH YEAH the spelling mistakes on the CD case!!!
On the front it says "Alexy Yemtsob Journeys on a Piano". And on the side it says "Alexy Yemtsov Journey on a Piano".
Also, on the back, "10. Those the Fight" - Isn't it Those that Fight?
"13. Ashitake and San", but on the Program it printed "Ashitaka san San".
I'm gona find whoever typed this up!!!
That sounded too... complainy... LOL I LOVE THE CD

its the morning [ or should i say afternoon? ] after PSIII and i woke up to the sound of Alexey playing from my sis's comp! =]
as for the cd... from what iv seen and heard, the songs picked were the ones that were more famous ones [ i think? ]. i don't play ff but i know at least a few of the songs!! Alexey sounds great on the cd, teeheehee especially the songs i know [ just cuz i know them! ^^ ]
i gotta say though... what happened to the head on the picture on the back inside cover? [ the page placed under where the cd sits ] haha, i dont mind it but it does kind of ruin the cd a little... not to mention all the spelling mistakes too.....
overall, very nicely produced cd!! Yay! 3 cheers for Eminence and Alexey! |

I must say that Alexey had performed well on the CD as well as the night performance during the Piano Stories III ^_^ Very well done!
Few comments on the CD:
1. The cover doesn't have bleed and it wobbles a lot (heh. Being a pre-press designer I tend to get VERY predentic (sp?) about these small things).
2. Spelling mistakes.
Other than that, it's a very good effort to give the audience a chance to listen more to Alexey's performance much closer.
WELL DONE!!! |

hmm... here's the (probably the only one ever) solitary complaint... i thought that the recording wasn't too great.. the sound was a bit soft, and i had to turn up me speakers heeeeeaaaaps high before i can get it nice and clear from my set of Lansings... it would be good if the recording was done a little better. other than that, probably pretty good! shoulda included those 3 pieces that hiro and aya played as well... they sounded awesome. _________________ This is my Spirit~Hear me Roar!

That's why you have a program like iTunes that levels the volume for you!

You have to remember that the recording was done "live" so you're bound to loose some quality of depth in the music.
It isnt recorded in a professional room, where there isnt much sound lost _________________

No, who uses CDs in a CD player?

yeah, i also expected that Hiro and Ayako will feature in the cd as well. The cd is really nice i love track 7 and track 8. maybe it would be nice if there some pictures of the performer like alexey and also some introduction about him on the cover instead of one piece cover. |
