Is anyone considering purchasing this game? The only criticism I have is its excessively high price, due to the inclusion of the imitation Gibson SG controller.

Is it possible to buy it without the controller for a streamlined price?

That's the good question, the answer to which I'm not enlightened to. However, I'd imagine not, as the searches I've conducted so far only seem to indicate a single price of approximately $150.

On the other hand, playing the game without the guitar controller would turn it into a form of finger DDR, which I imagine would reduce its gameplay value at least slightly.

Oh gawd...Please don't say your buying it. Seriously, do DDR. You get more of a workout. And Guitar Hero makes you look (No offence to people who have played it and like it) like a...freak...

Guitar Hero was one of the best purchases I've made in a while, I quite love my Bemani games.

And I'm done with DDR. I've beaten MAX 300 on Heavy, no point in playing it now, I play freestyle on PumpItUp instead. For those that do not know, PumpItUp is Korean, has 5 arrows (Center, and 4 diagonals) and it's hella fun on 'Full Double'! Sure, I could try PSMO and beat that, but meh..I play Dead End 1.5, Reverse, Boost, Hidden, that's enough for me. And PumpItUp doesn't hurt as much to play...(I have no endurance. =S)

And as one of the Video Games Assistants for Manifest, we needed it for another bemani game, I offered to buy it. And before you ask, yeah we'll have DDR (Stepmania, my collection..2300+ songs, around 12 GB) running. xD

And anyway, GH is fun on Expert, good times good times! And I found ScoreHero, so now I have a reason to try and 5-star Bark At The Moon.

Ahhh, right! yeah, I have a slightly better than dodgy mat. (KONAMI Official PS2), but even so..Manifest has metap pads, so all is good.

Make sure to show this year, as I'll be running it again, no doubt!

OKay, I'll ask my sis to get tickets...and when you see this 13 year old asian girl who can't do DDR, that would be me Very Happy

Right, and when you see the guy in Ouendan cosplay playing DDR on Heavy (Probably a 403 song), that'll be me. xD

Meh, my tag SHOULD have DarkYoshii on it, so you'll find me easy.

Bleh, was in the city trying Guitar Hero. Too expensive for both the game and guitar system but overall it is a fun game...for a certain period of time. Hehe, reminds me of Donkey Konga, Smile

**Laughs** I AM KNOWN!

I wasn't really too annoyed. At Minifest I was because I had 3 hours sleep thanks to the DDR malfunctioning all night. Manifest I loved it though!

Mmm, then make it 3 hours of sleep, the rest of the night trying to frantically get DDR operable on a laptop that is playing up, and copying a 12GB SM folder via USB Key (256 MB) to my laptop.

It was hell..
