Yes, there have been talks about it, but now here it is.
A full game concert is looming on the horizon, most likely July next year. If you have suggestion about the music to be played, please burn a CD with the mp3 and correct titles and send them to:
Eminence Group Pty Ltd
Artistic Director
3/48 Bellevue Rd
Bellevue Hill 2023
NSW AUSTRALIA
The music will be chosen by
1) To reflect well on the type of orchestra at hand
2) Balance well with other pieces
3) Artistic taste of the music
4) Sponsorship and corporate relation eminence has with gaming companies
5) Originality of the program
etc
Send anything you think it's appropriate!
Thanks heaps ^^ _________________

No, it's not safe to assume, though it is understandable that the program title may lead you to think that way.
Basically, the theme of this event will be, among other things, a 'showcase' of music relating to gaming. As such, this not only includes the Final Fantasy series of games, but any other game genre on any other platform. As Hiro said in his post, this is a "full game concert"
We are giving everyone the opportunity to have a say about what might be played, and a chance to have a sense of personal involvement in this special event.
Hope that helps! |

Wow that's great! So does that mean we can request you to play Katamari Damacy again? *looks hopeful*
Hiro san, what if we don't have the mp3, but we know the name? Can we send it to you? Or can we just post ideas here? And are you going to have the concert in Melbourne?? I have so many questions... _________________

I think it's best to send the mp3 files so it makes it easier for the composer to arrange the songs according the amount of the orchestra members and its instruments.
And also this also avoid time consuming process of course. ^_^ _________________ Suri >> Design Team Manager

Since I'm expecting a lot of mails and CDs, I really prefer it to be sent by snail mail.
Also, you can include many tracks as you want and list of preference/comment as well. _________________

Pixel, that's a fair comment, however it's not like we're not trying to avoid doing the work ourselves. If it seems like a lot of trouble to you, can you imagine how much trouble it will be for the Artistic Director to locate, obtain, sort thru and listen to all of the suggested music from everyone who submits a list? I'm sure we can agree that it would be a huge and impractical undertaking.
In a sense, the approach being suggested encourages people to really think about what they would most like to be included, and come up with a reasonable and practical selection of music.
I am sure that you can appreciate that there are probably heaps of great gaming music that would sound great orchestrated, however, going back to what Hiro originally specified, there are some guidelines to the music selection that will be applied, otherwise it'll be too big to manage. It is hoped that together with your input we can produce an event that most matches our objectives and your desired music. However, this does mean that some sensibility needs to be applied to the submission process to make it work out well for all.
Remember, this is meant to be an opportunity for those who are interested and keen to be able to have a say and personally influence the actual music played. From that perspective, we hope that it's not considered to be too big an ask to burn a CD and post it, especially if you are passionate enough about particular music.
Hope that helps to clarify things a bit |

hey seraph,
regarding your suggestion mp3's just a few questions:
what is the due date
can we give it to you in person
are we limited to only orchestral composititions or can we span our choice to favourite old time midis (such as what you did with the mario theme)
i think this is a great move for eminence to expand their music choice beyond miyazaki and uematsu works. good work dudes.[/list] |

Hey guys, the due date is by the 20th of July. So please hurry!
The music is not limited to orchestral, good old midi is fine. And yes, you can give it to me in person ^^ _________________

since you refer to the next year concert as a 'full game concert' or something, does that mean u wont be playing any music from anime?
coz there are certain anime that have excellent music that i really wanna hear played. |

Anime will be the main feature in A Night in Fantasia 2007 whilst gaming will transfer itself to Final Fantasia _________________

Hi Artistic Director,
I was wondering if you have received any suggestions re Chrono Cross - Time's Scar?
Just don't want to burn a CD if someone has already suggested it.
Maybe you could post a sticky with the songs you've already received so that people don't send you duplicates? Just a thought |
