Consequence
Anyone not carrying a valid concession card with a concession ticket will be asked to pay the full Adult-ticketing fee on the spot. And have their ticket exchanged with an Adult one. Otherwise you will be asked to leave, since it will be considered as an invalid ticket to the holder.
- Why do the tickets I want have a postage fee, but other tickets for the same event do not?
- Kinokuniya may request you to state mailing methods for delivering your tickets. 'Registered post' will also be used for which you must sign on delivery. The extra administrative costs and mail charge involved in this is added to your booking as a postage fee, currently stated on Kinokuniya's inclusion fee per booking.
- It is recommended that you use 'registered post' to ensure tickets are safely delivered
- If you do not wish to pay a postage fee or avoid postal deliveries altogether, you are given the two option:
1) To collect the tickets from Kinokuniya when you make your purchase
2) Collect them at the sales desk on the day of the concert, before entry.
Note#1: Please refer to the "General Admission Regulations" section
Note#2: For pickup for 2) all sales made at the end of 12th will be picked up by an Eminence Ticketing Coordinator by the 13th. So please do not attempt to ask Kinokuniya for further sales or questions. They will simply refer you back to us, in order to avoid and minimise as much frustration as possible for all parties involved.
- In rare circumstances where these tickets might go astray in the post, or not reach you in time for the event, we have placed a deadline when online ordering must to be made or we can often alert the venue office. This allows extra time to be sent to you via mail.
- Please allow a maximum of at least an estimated duration of 5 working days before you get a notice of its arrival.
General Admission Regulations:
- You may purchase your tickets prior to the concert or at the venue door on the day of the event (this is if the website has stated the availability of on-day ticket sales). However, this method will not guarantee a valid number of tickets to cater for everyone and is therefore not recommended. The risk you run is waiting in line. All concert-goers, regardless of whether they carry a ticket or not are expected to queue in line as with all other participants.
- Exceptions are VIPs and Special Guests
- Whats a booking fee?
- Many of our events, sold at leading vendors, are sold with a booking fee. With any product or service, there is a commission or profit margin which is normally hidden from the customer. Traditionally, theatre, concert, sport and cinema tickets have always had a booking fee added to the price, rather than a commission included within the price.
- When a booking fee applies on any of the events available, we endeavour to make it as clear as possible by always stating the initial price and then stating any additional costs.
Example
| Code: |
|
Pre-Sale at Kinokuniya A section Adult is $30 plus $5 Kinokuniya's booking fee. Therefore the final sales price is $35, excluding factors such as GST of course.
|
- We have tried to make all pricing information on this site as clear as possible and if you have any doubt at all about what prices are being charged, or if there is some ambiguity we may have overlooked, please do not hesitate to inform us about it
- Booking Fee Documentation --> Click Here <--
Can we request purchase of tickets from Eminence Staff members without incurring a booking fee?
- Members' personal contacts regarding individual ticket sales will not be publicised. This will be done at their own discretion, though it is recommended that they do not engage in this particular activity.
What's the procedure for booking online?
For Sydney:
- TBA
- You can click via a banner that will link you directly to Kinokuniya's online ticketing system
Is online booking secure?
- It's safer to quote your credit card details online if the website is secure. However, almost all online companies now have a secure section on their site, and this means that your card details are only secure while being transmitted from your computer to the website
Can we ask you OR Kinokuniya to hold tickets than have not been paid for?
- Clear answer is No
- In the past they have, but it was found that people did not purchase all the tickets that was asked to be reserved. Consequently, others missed out.
- Kinokuniya are under no obligation to hold tickets that have not been paid for at request. Tickets will only be held for the amount of which has been paid for.
Ticket Cancellation: What happens if we decide we can't go to the show? Can we cancel?
- Unfortunately No. The back of the tickets clearly state: "Once purchased, this ticket may not be refunded or exchanged". In most cases you will not be able to cancel your ticket(s), and are not entitled to either a refund or an exchange of dates. Please decide carefully before making a purchase.
Rare Incident
- Under extreme circumstances, where you know in advance you won't be using your tickets, let us know we may be able to resell them on your behalf. Only when someone has purchased the ticket will this be confirmed; however, the selling price will likely be less than what you originally paid. This is because we are not allowed to charge more for the tickets than the 'face value' price.
- We stress that we do not guarantee that a sale will be made. Please notify us by email chrisATeminenceonline.com (Ticketing Officer, with the subject line of "<State> <Concert> <Issue>") to let us know in advance so we can prepare for your arrival and arrangements.
*Please replace the AT with @
Seating/Entry Queries
Where will I be sitting? Can I choose where my seats will be? The website doesn't specify which seats we can occupy.
- Please read these documents here Can I see a seating chart? I want to know where I will be sitting
-For Stalls --> Click Here <--
-For Galleries --> Click Here <--
- Where possible, we will designate the area where your seats will be located, but there are no specific seat location mentioned (applies to Piano Stories 4). How you choose your seats will be discussed below, under "How will we be moving into the Hall?"
- We sell seats on a first-come-first-serve basis. While you are ordering online, other people may also be buying tickets online or on the phone. We are aware of which areas offer the best views and we sell the best available seats first. In accordance to sections A, B and C respectively.
- Specific requests for seat location are only made for customers who require disability access. In which case, we offer only up to a total of 2 special seating sections, 2 in each section. If you require this, then please let us know at the end of your booking, where you are given the opportunity to make further requests. We cannot guarantee to be able to meet your request, but will certainly try to the best of our ability. Once these specially allocated seats are sold out, we will kindly turn-down any further sales to cater for this particular need.
- We will normally try to specify where available seats are located by block number, row letter etc. Unfortunately, the quality of most venue seating charts are not as reliable. Problems we have found with many seating charts that are currently available online pose this problem- every seat is listed but the chart is often illegible. That is, numbers do not add up correctly to the total on that row. Rather than have seating charts which could be misleading, we have roughly coloured in boxes to indicate suggested areas for those sections.
Seating Definitions
What does 'Stalls'('Dress Circle'), Gallery (Balcony), Choir mean?
[Lower Level] Stalls
- In London this is abbreviated to "Stalls" where in the USA they are called the "Orchestra". Front Stalls are normally the most expensive seats and offer some of the best views, being the closest to the stage. While your choice of seat is a matter of personal preference, many theatregoers claim that particularly for dramas and intimately staged shows, the Stalls are the best seats because you are so close to the 'action' that you can become completely immersed in the show.
[Top Level] Galleries or Balcony
- If you have been told that your seats are in the Balcony, they will be on the top floor of the theatre.
How will we be moving into the Hall?
- TBA on the day of the concert
If I have a pram, can I bring it along?
- You may keep it outside the hall prior to entry. Our staff will, under regular circumstances, mind them for you while you're seated during a concert. You will however not be able to bring the pram with you into the hall.
Arriving at the Venue
What time does the show start? When should we arrive?
- Doors will open 30minutes prior to the time specified on the ticket. It is recommended that if you would like to claim the best of the seats first, that you arrive as early as possible at your convenience.
- It is probably best to arrive at the concert hall at least half an hour before the performance starts. This will give you extra time to collect your booked tickets, buy any pre-performance drinks and programs that you may require and generally get comfortable before the concert begins.
- Concert will start and close to the times specified on the ticket.
- Finishing on time may extend a little after the 1hr and 30minute allocation. Although concert promoters and producers try to adhere to a strict schedule, this is not always possible. Most often, shows will finish some time around 15minutes afterwards, but unforeseen circumstances (such as technical problems) can arise, delaying show starting times - which consequently means that a show can finish later than expected.
What is First Come First Serve?
- Also known as "General Admission", these have no specific seat assigned to them and venue staff have no indication to the seating place of a ticket holder once they have entered the venue. They cannot therefore allow duplicate tickets.
If Kinokuniya / Vendor Outlets announce they have sold out, what can I do if I really, really want a ticket?
- Forums will keep track of all the number of tickets we have at hand. Whatever is left over from sales, we will sell them at the Door. At best, we will attempt to clearly state if at all there are any tickets available via the website forums in this FAQ in the above first post.
- Kinokuniya Note: Kinokuniya's online system, only charges you when and if tickets are in stock. They will not be charging you for tickets that are not in stock.
- Even if tickets are all sold-out, people may want to sell their tickets but you must firstly check sales desk to see whether people have dropped off their tickets for sale.
- Important Note: Eminence, makes no guarantee that you will get a ticket if all tickets have been sold-out. You have been notified. Hopefully, next time you be able to purchase a ticket at our next concert.
Audience Details
Are there any age restrictions or cheaper prices for children? Can I take my young child to the show?
- Any individual bearing a concession entitlement as proof or evidence that they are below 16, are immediately entitled to concession prices. We do no offer any prices lower than this; each child must have a ticket.
- In general, we will not admit children under 4 years old. Rules may differ towards exceptional circumstances.
Can I bring my children?
- Children are most welcome at concerts. By the age of eight, many young children will gain a lot from attending a concert. Please make sure that your child is as quiet as possible during performance.
- Also, bear in mind that some productions may approximate to the duration of three hours and may not be ideal for younger children. In extreme circumstances, venue management may request the parent/guardian(s) of children who are disrupting the show to exit the theatre.
Whereabouts is the venue located?
- Map Location/Transportation --> Click Here <--
- Location is at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Verbrugghen Hall. The largest venue, Verbrugghen Hall, is a world-class concert hall seating 497 guests over two levels. Restored in accordance with heritage guidelines, the venue features a large stage accommodating a full symphony orchestra, Pogson organ, choir gallery and superb acoustic qualities.
How do I get to the Sydney Conservatorium of Music?
- The Verbrugghen Hall is located at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. The Sydney Conservatorium of Music is situated on Macquarie St, opposite the junction where Bridge Street is located. It is next to the Royal Botanic Gardens and the gates to Government House. It is easily accessible by public transport. There is no public parking on the site, however there is a short stay drop off point for disabled patrons and deliveries.
If you are travelling by the following means:
- By rail
- Wynyard, Martin Place and Circular Quay stations
- By bus
- Any bus that goes to Circular Quay or Wynyard. No 200 bus Chatswood
- Bondi Junction is a limited stops service that stops in Macquarie St weekdays only.
- By ferry
- Circular Quay
- Parking
- Secure Parking, Hudson Building, 131 Macquarie Street, Sydney
- (underneath Hudson House near the corner of Bridge and Macquarie Street offers an after hours and weekend discount rate for Conservatorium patrons)
- Sir Stanford Hotel, Macquarie St (Car park entry from Albert St)
- Sydney Opera House Car Park, Macquarie St
How do I get to Melba Hall?
Melba Hall is located in the conservatorium of music at Melbourne University. A map of the campus is available here. The building in the map is coloured pink, and is located at H11.
By tram:
You can get to the entrance from Royal Parade on tram 19 - North Coburg. You can catch it along Elizabeth street, and it takes you right outside the venue.
Parking:
Available on campus through gates 1,4,10 & 12 (12 being next to Melba Hall) for $4 via the boom gate with coin operated access.
What should I wear?
- Many people attending a concert treat it as a special occasion and therefore enjoy dressing up a bit; however it is entirely up to you. The most important thing is that you feel relaxed and enjoy the music. By and large no other attendees should pay any special attention to your attire. Dress comfortably, bearing in mind that you may be sitting in the same position for a long time! If the event is a Gala/charity performance, some of the audience may wear formal dress - this is normally optional, unless stated otherwise on the ticket.
How long is a typical performance?
- Program length varies, but a typical orchestral performance lasts about one and a half to two hours, including an interval. Occasionally recitals last about an hour without an interval. You are welcome to inquire Eminence for an estimated length.
Can I bring my mobile phone?
- All phone equipment should be turned off prior to entering the concert hall. Patrons wearing alarm watches and/or electronic paging systems are requested to also turn those off before entering the concert hall. Please contact the house manager before entering the auditorium if emergency notification might be required.
Can I take pictures, or any recording device?
- Cameras as well as other recording devices can create major distractions for the musicians and audience members around you. As a result, no cameras, video cameras or tape recorders are permitted in concert halls.
How do I know if I’ll like it? Will I enjoy it?
- We hope so, but everyone has different tastes. Even if you don't know the pieces, chances are you'll enjoy something in the program.
Other
What are all the different instruments?
-
Can I get a refund if the concert, event or show is cancelled?
- This is extremely rare and will be announced when it does happen.
- Sometimes, through unexpected circumstances, events are cancelled outright. In these cases we will refund in full the ticket purchase price including any booking fees. If there is an alternative date you will be offered an exchange of tickets or a full refund.
When should I arrive/enter?
- To help reduce distracting noises during the performances, there are usually designated pauses between each piece where late arrivals will be able to be seated. If you arrive late, we recommend that you wait close to your assigned seating area entrance so that you can be seated as soon as that pause occurs. If you have to leave a concert before its end, please do so between program works.
What happens if we arrive late? Can we still get in if we arrive late?
- If you are late for the theatre or concert, normally you will be admitted when there is a suitable break. In other cases, you may need to wait until the interval, however this is very rare.
- Most events have breaks within the first 20 minutes during which latecomers can be admitted to the auditorium.
- Even though you may feel that you should be allowed straight into the event, there are often safety regulations which do not permit admission until a break, quite apart from the distraction that latecomers could cause if they were allowed in at any time.
- If you arrive late for any other type of event, please speak to staff when you arrive and ask their advice.
What happens if our tickets are lost or stolen? Can we still get in if we don't have our tickets?
- If you have a ticket for unreserved seating or standing, it is less likely that you can be given a replacement.
- Please bear in mind that Kinokuniya/Eminence staff are under no obligation to help you if you have lost your ticket. Once they have reached you, they are out of our control.
Where can I get cheap tickets? Can I get reduced price tickets? Are there any discount prices?
- Any discount offers or programs Kinokuniya offers are not applicable to the sales of Eminence Concert Tickets. Please DO NOT persist further in negotiating a deal with Kinokuniya staff members, they will simply say No.
- There are no online discounts, no bulk discounts and no group discounts.
Are Standing rooms offered?
- For OHS purposes we will not be issuing out Standing rooms, even if all tickets are all sold out.
Can I use my Credit Card on the Day at the Concert?
- Not at this stage (applies only for Piano Stories 4). We do not have any EFTPOS system wired/wireless device with us. But rest assured that we are working on this and will hopefully be available in 2007 or earlier
- Map Location/Transportation --> Click Here <--
General/Final Tips in mind
- Always check any ticket(s) carefully as soon as you receive them. Make sure that they are for the event/date that you expected and whether they are for the Matinee (afternoon) or Evening performance. You'd be surprised how many people arrive at the theatre with tickets for the wrong night or even the wrong show!
- If you are a group organiser, keep a note of who you give which tickets to - again, this is helpful if any of your party loses their tickets.
- Leave plenty of time to get to the venue. Also, allow time to get to your seat- some venues are very large and this can take a while.
- Before the performance starts, switch off any possible disruptive devices, such as mobile phones and watch alarms. If you use them during the interval, remember to switch them off again before the second half of the show.
- Parking can be more difficult than you would expect. You may find it more convenient to use public transport.
For Sydney:
Buses and Trains normally run long after the show finishes. Check Cityrail or/and CityBuses timetables.
- We do NOT accept personal cheques
- Please note that we cannot take responsibility for any loss of or damage to items during postage. We make every effort to pack items securely and safely, but delivery issues are the responsibility of Australia Post. If you are concerned about loss or would like insurance, we recommend the registered post option.
- There will be no refreshments prepared, so please have something to eat prior to commencement of the concert. You can head out during the intermission to purchase food/drinks outside the premises.
I have a question that is not covered here, what should I do?
- Please reply to this thread with your question, and it will get answered and updated for others to read.

That's correct.
So to reiterate, for Sydney, the tickets will become available for sale from about 1-2pm onwards at Kinokuniya.
We will advise again soon what the availability of the tickets at Melbourne will be. |

If you're coming to the concert hosted in Sydney, Internet availablity should be ready soon, Im working closely with kino as fast as we can. At the moment, I have no received a direct from them, so that it'll make things easier for you guys to make orders
At the moment, please refrain from using phone orders as a means of last resorts.
This time round, ticketing will be managed at the most professional level. And that means we're working on a deadline.
Another thing is, if you have any queries, questions, problems of any sort big or small. Let us know!
We want to help.
Most importantly, Kinokuniya does not deal with inquries and they shouldn't. They just deal with tickets. Inquries, should and will be dealt by us.
But if i foresee an issue existing on their side, i'll make it my top priority to ensure everyone's a happy customer.
Thats my vision anyway

All Victorian Gametraders (herein referred to as 'GT') stores will be selling tickets for Piano Stories IV. As mentioned for Kino, please do not address general event enquiries to GT, that's for us!
Please do not book via phone, and there will be no internet sales in Victoria. We have the power of 10 stores around the state, and therefore feel that it covers most people. Should you find yourself unable to reach a GT store, feel free to grab a ticket at Manifest on Saturday the 23rd. If you know you're also not going to Manifest, feel free to PM me and I'll see what I can do for you.
As stated above, tickets will go on sale next week, but the exact day is TBA. So if you have to travel a bit to get to your nearest store you may want to hold off until we announce the day sales begin, I apologise for any inconvinience caused. _________________

Sales will close at Gametraders this Friday (the 22nd of September). Don't leave it until Friday since some stores may be sold out, make sure you get in beforehand!
Don't forget we'll be in the trader's hall at Manifest, and tickets can still be purchased at the concert provided we're not sold out.

Since the title says faq, I guess I ask here instead of posting a topic.
Will there be time for autographs at the 4pm show in Sydney? I heard the early show in Melbourne missed out |

Getting people out from the 4pm and into the 7:30 is a little trick when you have something inbetween, we'll try to, but the time dedicated for an afternoon photography compared to the evening would be unfair
Since evening has no concerts to quickly ask people to head out than the afternoon one =/
Note taken btw!

| Is is still possible to buy online tickets at the Kinokuniya site for the Sydney concert? The FAQ made it appear that you couldn't after the 8th of October, but they still appear to be on sale at the Kinokuniya site. |

Is is still possible to buy online tickets at the Kinokuniya site for the Sydney concert? The FAQ made it appear that you couldn't after the 8th of October, but they still appear to be on sale at the Kinokuniya site.

Its up to kino's discretion in how strictly they follow procedures given to them. If you have made an online purchase and the system has accepted it. Thats fine, ONLY IF, they have physically setted aside the tickets for you. They would have sent you an email informing you about this giving you the following options in how to pick them up. As already explained in the FAQ per se.
Kino can however, rejected the purchase, and not proceed with the transaction. So technically, it may seem the system is still up and running however, you receiving the actual ticket is a separate matter.
I advise everyone, to stop online purchasing. Don't get angry/frustrated at Kino if they have been asked to halt sales after the 8th October.
There's been a reason behind this procedure regarding the feedback received on our last concert. This is just the matter we're trying to supress and observe how it goes.
Cheers~
