K-ON!, the anime series produced by Kyoto Animation which revolves around 4 girls' efforts to start a band in high school, continues to flex its music muscle by doing very well in terms of album sales. The latest release, the insert single "Fuwa Fuwa Time," came in 3rd based on the Oricon Weeklies ending on May 27, 2009. The OP song, titled "Cagayake! Girls," and the ED song, titled "Don't Say 'Lazy,'" continue to do well despite being released on April 22, 2009 with the former coming in at 16th and the latter placing 13th on the Oricon Weeklies for that same time period, demonstrating that they have long staying power.
The question now is whether K-ON!'s soundtrack, set to be released on June 6th, 2009, can keep up that trend since this album will be composer Hajime Hyakokku's anime soundtrack debut
