HIMEKA, the stage name of the Canadian-born singer Catherine St. Onge, has debuted on May 27, 2009 with a single, titled "Asu e no Kizuna", which serves as the opening to the Valkyria Chronicles anime series based on the Playstation 3 game of the same name. St. Onge landed this role after winning the 2nd All-Japan Anison Grand Prix singing contest and through that victory, she hopes to be one of a handful of Westerners to be able to break into the Japanese music industry. So far, her debut album managed to land her the 25th spot on the Oricon Daily charts for the day the album was released.

As a note, the B-side track on her debut single is none other than "Sayonara Solitia," the ending song composed by Yuki Kajiura for the anime series Chrono Crusade.
