Haruhi Suzumiya Franchise Sells Over One Million Discs
Super Driver, the single featuring the eponymous song that serves as the opening to the current airing of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, debuted at #2 on the Oricon daily singles chart for July 22. This success means that the Haruhi franchise has sold over one million CDs, which includes the opening and ending singles from the first season of Haruhi as well as the insert songs and character albums with music sung by the featured character's voice actor/actress.
Looking forwards, August 5 will see a release of two compilation albums, one of which contains themes mostly taken from the Haruhi anime and video games. August 26 is also going to be a big day with the release of two Haruhi albums. The first is the ending single Tomare! and the second is Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu -Super Remix- Full-Mix which will feature remixes of some of the more popular Haruhi songs such as "Bouken Desho Desho?" and "God Knows..."
