Yoko Kanno a featured speaker at the Japan Media Arts Festival Symposium

Yoko Kanno as well as directors Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo) and Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) have been slated to talk at the Japan Media Arts Festival Symposium held at Shizuoka University on November 3, 2009. The talk will be moderated by Dai Sato who had written scripts for anime series including Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, and Samurai Champloo and will focus on how music is incorporated into the anime series itself as well as other issues relating to musical direction. Admission is free and more details can be found on the Japan Media Arts Festival website.
