And some exciting prospects for Eminence Online readers who want these products.
Halo's equivalent product to The Animatrix is sure to please fans of Bungie's bestselling FPS titles. Furthermore, a touch of Japanese artistry and musicianship might just make all the difference for some of us.
Halo Legends has short episodes that flesh out the Halo universe. Some episodes are expanded bits of content from the games; others come from the books or are entirely original scenarios. The episodes are directed and animated by such big-name studios as Production I.G, Bones Inc., and Toei Animation. Some episodes are fully 2D, others incorporate some CG with the anime as well.
While the music to Halo Legends includes new arrangements of the classic themes from Martin O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori, the people in charge of this soundtrack are two talented Japanese composers. They are Tetsuya Takahashi (Resident Evil: Degeneration) and Yasuharu Takanishi (Genji: Dawn of the Samurai). These two musicians are responsible for a host of new music, as well as new arrangements of familiar Halo themes.
The movie itself, presented by 343 Industries, will be released in three forms: DVD (one disc or two disc Special Edition), Blu-Ray, and digital download. The film is scheduled for release on February 16, 2010.
The soundtrack, on the other hand, comes one week early (February 9, 2010). If you want it, know that it will be released as both a physical CD and digitally (including iTunes), published by Sumthing Else Music Works. Head to www.sumthing.com to preorder your own copy now!
Also, keep your eyes peeled to Eminence Online, as we will be having a large giveaway for both the two disc special edition DVD and the soundtrack CD, coming soon!!
