How could I not have known about this?

So here I was, browsing through the free Anime Update I got from a recent DVD purchase, when I came upon a little advertisement for "A Night in Fantasia 2006".

"Hold on a minute" my brain says to itself... "A concert? Featuring scores from awesome anime and some of the greatest video games in history? In Melbourne!?" With fumbling, over-excited fingers, I manage to get to the Eminence website. My eyes skim over the site, too excited with even the concept of something like this to slow down and take in the details. I did manage to read what it included; Studio Ghibli, Final Fantasy, Shadow of the Colossus! *faint* Even my eyes were drooling.

That's when I see the concert dates. July!? JULY!? That was months ago! Damn you out of date booklet! Damn you to Late-Notice Hell!

Wounded, but not beaten, I look around for the upcoming events. Namely: Piano Stories IV. OK, granted it doesn't look as leg-shakingly orgasmic as A Night in Fantasia, but it will suffice.

Once again, however, I am cursed with late notice. It begins in 7 hours.

If only I had heard about all this earlier. Say, last year some time.

I hope there are more performances in the future, with equally great scores from awesome anime/game titles. And now that I am aware of this event, I will indeed have sufficient notice to ditch work for the night, run around the house laughing like a madman, and scoot off to an evening of such beloved music.

But for now, I shall rock back and forth, with a slight twitch in my eye, cursing my bad luck, and ignorance.

Please tell me there will be more in the future?

the concert doesn't start till later tonight and there should be tickets sold at the door

Dude. Did u read newspaper ? =p If i'm not mistaken, Eminence did advertise on the newspaper as well. Just a small column of size 6cmx12cm (approx measurement. cant recall =p) stating Eminence will be having bla bla bla bla bla bla...... If u're a uni student, i'm sure the ANIME clubs might have advertised it as well. hehehe

Such are the frustrations of working nightfill. The forgotten workers who slave away, stacking shelves, while the rest of the world sleeps peacefully. If it weren't for people like me... you'd starve.

Not only am I out of touch with what goes on in the real world (be it the only musical performances I'd ever leave the PC to attend) or otherwise, I also have to re-arrange my work/sleep schedule just to have a life.

Oh well... Perhaps it's time to look for a new job. But on the bright side, I'm now aware of such musical wonders, and will keep an eye out for future performances.

In the mean time... how about a Nightfill Appreciation Day?

We've just made the announcement in PSIV.

unfortunate, i used to be ignorant about the concerts too. only started this yr thanks to the article in 'the age' 'green guide' detailing 'night in fantasia'.
Eminence needs a team of 100 and $10 million to increase marketing!!! Razz
